3D is completely lame? I probably thought it was cool when i was 7, but when i hear news like "Toy Story to be re-released in 3d" i can careless. Those friggen glasses suck, and after a few minutes it's gets tired. People used to think it was the wave of the future, but it's dumb.

maybe it's just me.

It all depends on how well it's done. Most of the time it's underwhelming. The Terminator 3D show at Universal Studios is great, especially when the T-1000 shoots his hand out at the audience.

I believe Hollywood plans on doing a lot more with 3-D in the near future. They have the Journey to the Center of the Earth 3-D movie coming out next summer. I think I remember something about Final Destination 4 being in 3-D. 3-D movies are okay as an occasional thing. I thought Beowulf was pretty fun, but it's not something I want to see a lot more of.

It's a gimmick used to sell sometimes shitty movies.

See Keith Richard's prostate exam....IN 3D!

That's almost as bad as U2 3-D.

It was pretty cool when they used it for half an hour in the last harry potter film, but I get you point, the glasses are fucking unforfortable too.

i really can't stand 3D stuff. i'm more interested in what a movie conveys than how it looks....And those red and green acetate glasses sure made my eyes feel funny as a kid

It depends how it's used. Currently, it's a gimmick. Nothing more than to serve as the attraction in itself.

I think James Cameron will determine how viable such technology is and how it will function as a cinematic aspect, because he seems to be crafting Avatar with respects to the 3d technology and not as simply a means to show it.

I hate the glasses because I have prescription glasses and I'd like to be able to see what's 3d so I can't take 'em off.

the glasses are much better now, at least for Beowulf they were just like sunglasses. i was skeptical going in but I thought the 3-D in Beowulf was awesome and made the movie.
seeing a U2 concert in 3d is probably worthless, I agree, but with certain movies it will probably work really well.

I can't wait to see U2 in 3-D so that when Bono screams, "Uno, Doz, Tres, Catorce!" all the numbers will just FLY into my face in 3-D. It will make films even better because in 3-D, you'll gloss over bad acting, shitty scripts, and derivative ideas all because it's 3-D!

Yep, 3-D's amazing. :)
