SPOILERS
Well, today, I finally got to see Rambo 4. And I'd love to blab on a bit about it, if that's ok. I gotta say this film was one helluva big shit fight for John. He seems to enjoy the odds being not stacked in his favour. Which makes it all the better viewing for us. I really enjoyed this movie. From start to finish, it was gratuitous violence Rambo style, and plenty of it. This is one of the most brutal movies that I've seen in quite some time. And by far, the most graphic of the quadrilogy. The graphic horrors of war are vividly brought to the screen in lovely bloody red chunks. And there was plenty of that flying about. I like my war movies, and I like them with plenty of gore and grit. And I have always loved the First Blood series. Rambo 4 did not disappoint me at all.

The story was pretty much to be expected along those lines. People go into the NONO zone, and good ole Rambo has to put his expendable ass on the line once again. He's used to that. And he's damn fine at killing people. What was it that Agamemon said about Achilles in the movie, TROY? Oh yes, he said - "That man was born to end lives." I feel that the same can also be said about Sly in this film and the other three. My God, when he first drew his bow, I couldn't help but think of Legolas from LOTR. I've not seen bowmanship that fast and that accurate since LOTR. lol
He's come full circle...finally. He's a killing machine. Only one notch down from the Terminator. "Live for nothing, or die for something." This movie had it all. Decapitations, limbs chopped off. Babies thrown into burning shacks [damn]. Heads shot off. Infact, this film had probabaly more violence, gore and sheer gruesomeness than alot of solid horror movies. When he got behind that jeep mounted machine gun. It was like watching a bat out of hell going crazy. Talk about unloading and making instant sushi body parts. One scene in particular above all else. The shot where he rips to ribbons the entire back of that trucks occupants. There must have been at least 20 soldiers. And they all got shot to absolute shit.
END SPOILERS
I'm gonna have to give this movie a solid 9/10. I had an excellent time at IMAX. Sly still has got what it takes, and Rambo 4 is testament to that fact. At what, 61 years of age? He is fucking awesome! Bruce kicked ass in DH4. And now Sly kicks [shreds] ass in the 4th and final installment to Rambo: First Blood. If they change their minds and ever decided to make Rambo 5, I am so there.
