Alexander vs The New World. Battle of the insomnia epics
Is it just coincidence, or does Collin Farrel star in two of the biggest lemons of this decade? In all honesty, I should have loved both of these long snooz-fests. I initially thought that The New World would be along the lines of a Last of the Mohicans movie. And Alexander would have been great entertainment like Gladiator. But IMHO, they both were quite bad films.
So my question to you is; Which of these two flicks was the most boring/crappiest? People who like both or either of these two movies, please feel free to flame me. I need a good laugh at people who defend these two pieces of shite :p:p:p
I'm gonna go for The New World. There wasn't any like um any dialogue for awhile.

Fell a sleep on both.
But there is a big difference. For Alexander, it wasn't the movie's fault. I made the mistake of watching the movie really tired.
With The New World it WAS the movie's fault. The New World could cure insomnia. The only two recent movies that might match The New World for boredom are Miami Vice and The Da Vinci Code.
I can't fairly or accurately judge Alexander until I've seen again. But just from what I have seen I can already tell you it's way better than The New World.

I fucking love The New World. The cinematography is astounding, it has the rhythm of a song, the acting is great and the costumes/sets are gorgeous.
That being said, its not exactly a film i could watch once a week. Alexander I couldn't watch twice in my life, no matter what Stone does to it with a splicer.

The New World is a great movie.
Alexander is not. The only part I really cared about was Rosario's ta-tas and then I went to sleep.

Other way around for me.
Alexander has the better story and the better execution, with better acting. Alexander the Great is one of my personal favorite historical figures so i didn't find the movie boring at all, and Stone's use of camera-movement, filters etc. are amazing. There are of course flaws to the film, Anthony Hopkins being one of them, Jolie's exagerrated accent being another but over all it's a good film and definitely under-appreciated by too many people. 7/10
The New World is one of the very rare and extreme cases where I couldn't finish the film out of sheer boredom and where I felt that if I continued I would be wasting my time 100%. Sure it looked nice but that's about it. So long, so much voice over, mediocre acting from everyone etc. I usually love Malick's stuff but this was a huge blunder. 3/10

The New World.
Alexander was a hell of a lot better than it and I didn't have to force myself to sit through it in the hopes it might get better like I did with World.

I quite enjoyed Alexander.... I liked the elephant battle scenes.... The New World was a huge steaming, boring pile of fucking slop. Fuck it.

I actually appreciated The New World, it was sort of interesting, even though I did fall asleep about 30 minutes before it finished (hungover as fuck with food all over me).
Alexander sucked if I remember correctly and had some gay undertones according to some reviews. I think it had bare tits going for it tho, but I might be mistaken, I couldn't finish it either.
So anyway yeah I guess they both pretty well suck.
