My friend is going into the Navy soon so he's selling all his DVD's. I went by there last night and basically grabbed all of the Widescreen ones. I ended up getting 60 total, and he told me $3 each...which is $180. I think I came off good. I know some of these probably aren't worth $3 to some of you, but some I grabbed just to complete collections. The list is below. How do you think I did?

Seems like an okay deal to me. Yeah, there are some that maybe aren't worth 3 dollars, and could be basically unsellable at any used DVD store, but there are quite a few that are worth more. I think you got a good deal.

There are 20-25 pretty good discs there. Although I recommend you use Smokin' Aces, Radio, and Date Movie as kindling! :p

I actually liked Smokin' Aces...The only reason I got Radio is because it was all filmed locally, and Date Movie sucks something awful...probably gonna give it to my lil sis.

there are plenty on there i wouldn't have bought, but as long as you like them it's all that matters. $3 a piece is a good deal.

Well...I honestly don't know, but it benefited me so why say anything? I know he wants to pay off some debt before leaving for basic training, so that probably has something to do with it. Says he rarely watches any of them anyways.

More like booze...

Not bad stphnhwks. I love buying my movies at a place called CD Game Exchange here in Eugene. They have a huuuge section of $2.50 DVDs! I've spent a lot of money, but its worth it for that good of a price!

What does your friend think the Navy is?

Prison?

What a strange cat.

Congrats on those DVDs, I guess.

I can't think of more than ten DVDs total that I would want these days.

To pay off debt, i can see that.. and you def did get a great deal!

and Foreign Prostitutes.... you dont need THAT much scratch!! (Buddy of mine, i swear, in Frankfurt on a lay-over)! Although the Dollar is down now-a-days, so who knows!

selling his DVD's because he's going in the NAVY? what an idiot. After I joined the Air Force, I bought more DVD's lol. What a goofball.

Like someone said earlier in this thread... when you're deployed... sometimes that's the only way to keep yourself sane. After a long hard day in the 120+degree sun in the desert, there's no better way to just let loose and let your mind drift away.

This sis you speak of... Do you hate her? If not, do NOT give her that awful, awful movie. :(

If anyone got screwed, it was your friend who sold the DVDs for $180.

You made out just fine.

For sure....Most of those movies could have been sold for 5 - 10 bucks apiece, good job helping your pal rip himself off.

I wouldn't pay $180 for a movie lot, but just those movies I listed -- At $9 a piece, I'd say not a bad deal.
