Not really a villain per se, but he just wanted to be human, or express himself in the most human way possible.

Totally agree dude!
I will have to add Javier Bardem in No Country For Old Men as well.
Also John Doe in Seven might be my favorite of all time.

I am not sure what that'traditional' villian exactly means.
As what kind counts Victor Kruger/The Kurgan in Highlander?
Sgt. Bob Barnes (Tom Berenger) in Platoon?

Judging from the responses it sounds like non traditional just merely means not the usual suspects. You know, no Freddy Kruger's or Hannibal Lecter's or Han Gruber's, ect.

John Lithgow in Cliffhanger :D
"What's in the case?"
"Oh you know, shirts, dirty socks, half a million dollars, the usual"
hahahah
I loved him in that film.
But he's probably a "traditional" villain

Remember that guy from Wedding Crashers? Uh...evil clone from Alias...um...yes! Bradley Cooper, 'Sack' Lodge...purely evil...how about Colonel Kurtz from Apocolypse Now?That's funny, he has to be one of the worst, most annoying characters I've seen in a movie in the last few years.

You'll learn to both sense and love my genuine sarcasm ;)
I though it was ridiculous how, in some extraneous way, the bloodline of both Lucifer and FG's Joe Swanson ended up in concentrated doses in the same character.
How the hell was he spawned from Christopher Walken's loins? Blech.
