BEST LINE
“Don't talk like one of them. You're not! Even if you'd like to be. To them, you're just a freak, like me! They need you right now, but when they don't, they'll cast you out, like a leper! You see, their morals, their code, it's a bad joke. Dropped at the first sign of trouble. They're only as good as the world allows them to be. I'll show you. When the chips are down, these... these civilized people, they'll eat each other. See, I'm not a monster. I'm just ahead of the curve.” - THE DARK KNIGHT

"You have nothing. Nothing to threaten me with. Nothing to do with all your strength!" - THE DARK KNIGHT

"Everybody knows you never go full retard." - TROPIC THUNDER

"Shoot this muthafucker!" - WANTED

"No, venti is twenty. Large is large. In fact, tall is large and grande is Spanish for large. Venti is the only one that doesn't mean large. It's also the only one that's Italian. Congratulations, you're stupid in three languages." - ROLE MODELS

Just one so far, and that's best picture belonging easily to "There Will Be Blood". Well 2 I should say, best actor of course is Daniel Day Lewis in said movie.

I've not been out to theatre hardly at all this year. It's intentional, I can't fucking stand people for the most part, they've pretty much ruined me ever wanting to go to the theatre again. The only way I will, is it has to be a gaddamned fucking great movie for me to get the fuck off my ass and see it. So we'll see how many more of those come along (Funny Games might just be the next one).

I know it's wayyy too early to call and I don't want to jinx Heath Ledger's Oscar chances, but his performance was nothing short of phenomenal! I was never a big fan of his movies but I always enjoyed his performances. What a great swan song (in the same vein as James Dean and River Phoenix)! The ending of the film did seem kind of rushed and incomplete, and I wanted more from Ledger's mesmerizing Joker character. The visual & sound effects were stunning as well, and should be up for Oscars come February!

So no matter how many times I change the rest of my 2008 Movie Awards, Heath Ledger will definitely remain the victor of my Best Supporting Actor category!

God speed, brother!

I'll be making my 2nd annual movie awards at the end of the year but so far I'd say In Bruges takes the cake.

there are still a few flicks I think I need to see before passing judgment, but at the very least I don't see anyone surpassing Ledger for supporting actor (though I'm bummed that Downey Jr., whom I love, would have probably had a decent shot for Tropic Thunder before Ledger's performance erased that).

I also think Segal should at least get a nod for Forgetting Sarah Marshall, which was beyond brilliant as a comedy. And damn, I haven't seen it, but is In Bruges really as awesome as people say it is? I may have to put a rush on checking this flick out.....

I haven't seen WENDY & LUCY yet (totally looking forward to it!) but trusting your judgment from past selections, I'm hoping that these two both win Oscars this year! Wouldn't that be fucking ironic??? I've heard that Ledger's parents are accepting the posthumous awards he's received (so far) but I'd love to see Williams head up to that stage twice on the same night!
