View Full Version : Most unnecessary moments in movie history? (potential spoilers)
I'll start, you add in.
Seeing Rod Farva completely naked in Super Troopers. Not funny, and completely unnecessary.

Tarantino's cameo in Planet Terror
Nearly killed the momentum of the movie, not funny or hip, and just annoying. Plus, it clashed with the rest of the movie, none of the other characters were chatting about Ava Gardner.

can't think of one from better movies but in halloween 2007 there's a death scene that went nowhere, you know that awesome truck driver who just wanted to enjoy that taco supreme he had.

Terminator 3 in general.
The studio-insisted ending of The Woman in the Window.
The studio-insisted ending of the original Invasion of the Body Snatchers.
The delightfully explicit lap dance scene in Go.
The suggestively written shooting contest in Red River.
Jason coming out of the water being a dream in Friday the 13th.

That little part in The Departed where the lady gives Matt Damon a coffee; he says "Thanks," then there's a momentary pause, and the lady, with no emotion or evident acting ability, says "No. Thank you." MY buddy and I were geeking for the rest of the scene.

Any musical numbers in the Marx Brothers movies (aside from the one in Duck Soup)......I'm pretty sure that's why the fast-forward button was created.

Well, I know Kevin's bacon in Wild Things was by accident. It just happened to be the best take, and Kev let them use it. This might be a similar thing

Having just finished watching it, The Shrek and Bob Marley scenes were really pointless in I Am Legend. They were just grueling to sit through and clashed with the movie. I wonder what Richard Matheson (Author of I Am Legend) thought when he saw those scenes.

Got that right. Jackson's King Kong was long and pointless enough!

Rambo's cruising through the jungle when a big snake descends down behind him, so he spins around and grabs it around the neck (do snakes have necks?) anyway he grabs the snake and gives it this "don't even think about it, bitch!" look and then lets it go where it then hangs dejectedly in an obviously rubber and harmless way. I bought it at Walmart for 5 bucks and while watching it I literally said WTF out loud. Completely ridiculous scene. Rambo makes snakes his bitches with stern a reproachful eyes.

I fall at the feet of David Lynch, but the "Bucky" scene in 'Inland Empire' is throwaway as fuck.

In the film "The Boxer" with DDL there is this really short scene where DDL is washing his underwear in the sink. That's it. It was pretty obvious already the character was working class poor. And then from there it cuts to him at his ex-girlfriend's house:confused:
What the hell was that for?
