Petersen previously teamed with the studio on "Das Boot," "In the Line of Fire" and "Air Force One." Columbia president Doug Belgrad said Wolfgang Petersen is "just the right director to handle 'Uprising's' mix of action, suspense and drama."
Charles Leavitt (Blood Diamond) is writing the screenplay.

What the fuck about fucking "Ender's Game" you snivelling German bastard!! Making promises you can't keep, god damnit I wish they would go ahead with that movie already, it's one of my most anticipated adaptations!!
Still, this could be interesting, although I couldn't help but feel that the guy has been losing his touch lately (Troy? Poseidon? cheap!!)

That's exactly what I tought when I read the thread title.

Sounds similar to "Battlefield Earth".

Dammit when will Wolfgang Petersen return to his roots? Hit films like Das Boot, In The Line of Fire and The Perfect Storm rule but then he fucked up with Troy and the unnnecesary remake of The Poseidon Adventure. Thank goodness the Superman/Batman movie that he was supposed to direct never happened.

I actually liked Troy and Poseidon. Didn't like Air Force One nor the Perfect Storm.
*********SPOILERS*********
I mean they tell us that it's a true story, but then no one lives to tell it. How did the details of the events during the storm reach us then?

Despite having made some great films, his last three have made me very wary of anything he's attached to.
