Good vs Evil. It's in almost every movie that we watch. Let's see what you consider to be prime examples of this never-ending conflict. List as many as you like. And it doesn't matter the scale of the conflict, as long as the theme is present.
Star Wars - Dark side of the force against the good side of the force.
LOTR - Sauron/Saruman against all the rest of Middle Earth.
Terminator - Skynet vs the underground resistance
Star Trek - Federation against the Dominion, the Borg, Rommulans etc etc
Babylon 5 - Earth Alliance against the Shadows
Transformers - Autobots against the Decepticons
The Matrix - Zion against machines

1st named are the baddies vs the 'goodies' (good-doers?)
Once Upon a Time in the West: Frank's gang + the money man (= baddies) vs. the outlaws boss Cheyenne (whitecoats?) together with the good one (Harmonica)... in a way ;)
13th Warrior: Wendols vs. 12 Viking warriors + the 13th warrior
Serenity: Alliance vs Serenity crew
Reavers vs. Serenity crew
in a way Alliance vs. Reavers (!!! now reavers the 'good' ones) :p
Dune: Harkonnen clan (+ the emperor, Rev. Mother, ...) vs. Atreides/Fremen
GoldenEye: 006 vs. 007 (in a way...)
Highlander: Kurgan vs. Highlander
King Arthur: The Saxons/wanna-be 'Christians' vs. the Knights/Woads

Soem really great examples there. Highlander is an awesome movie! I loved 13th Warrior as you already knew that. And Dune, I never even thougth of that one. Excellent!
