Jackie and Jet 4ever! Mar. 12, 2008

Movie executives must have been aching to get Jackie Chan and Jet Li—arguably the two biggest martial arts stars of this generation—together in one roundhouse and scissor kick-filled movie. Well that’s finally happening with the ancient epic (and, ugh, family film) THE FORBIDDEN KINGDOM, which sees the two legends team up, Jackie as “The Drunken Immortal” and Jet as “The Silent Monk.” The film sees a kung fu-obsessed American teen (Michael Angarano) head to ancient China, through some level of sorcery, to aid the two warriors in saving The Monkey King, who I believe is being played by the same monkey from Peter Jackson’s KING KONG. BELOW is the new poster for the film, and it certainly puts its stars to good use, but I can’t help but wonder how this film would have worked in modern-day China, sans special effects. Because who needs computers when you have these two?

I think other than the obvious choices (TDK, Wall-E, Indy IV for me), this could end up being one of the best flicks of this year, if it's as good as it's looking. http://joblo.com/forums/images/icons/icon14.gif

This is better than Al Pacino and Robert de Niro.

I can't tell if this movie looks good or bad yet. I saw the trailer and could not decide.
