LOL
from collider
Just the other day I was saying to myself “Hey, what’s up with that David O. Russell guy?” (These are the sort of interesting conversations I have with myself on a daily basis.) My ponderings were prompted by the fact that “Three Kings” has resurfaced on cable of late and by the fact that I had heard the writer/directorwas making some sort of sex-fueled, political satire in which Jessica Biel got shot in the head with a nail gun. Awesome.
I think David O. Russell rocks. OK, “I Heart Huckabees” was a tad pretentious, but any director who could cold-cock George Clooney is a badass in my book. And, maybe it’s just me, but the thought of Jessica Biel with a nail through her head is sort of a turn on. So what’s up with that movie?
“Nailed” (Yup, that’s what it’s called) is still on and now three big names are in negotiations to star opposite Biel. Jake Gyllenhaal was already attached to play a young Congressman who takes to Biel’s naïve waitress. James Marsden will play her home-town beau, and as “Nailed” is described as a “romantic comedy” I’m guessing that he gets ditched somewhere for Gyllenhaal’s character… will Marsden ever tire of having his screen lovers romanced out form under him?
Catherine Keener will play a self-interested Congresswoman (department of redundancy department) and producers are in negotiations with “30 Rock” star Tracey Morgan for a role described by the Hollywood Reporter as “an injured compatriot of Alice’s who has given up on love.” Now, whether Morgan will have a nail in his head as well is unclear, but I would at least count on the pairing of Tracy Morgan and David O. Russell to yield at least one good You Tube meltdown a la Lily Tomlin.
Oh! And did I mention that the nail in Jessica Biel’s head gives her some sort of super-powered sex-drive? Do you think David O. Russell is awesome now, or what?

I suppose though I'll settle for an R rating and a bunch of nudity from her in the sex scenes. :D

I Heart Huckabees - 10/10 is one of my all time favorite films. I will see this just for that reason alone. Biel doesn't hurt either.

Why would anyone sign on to work with David O. Russell? Isn't he the most difficult director to work with? Has anyone seen the fights between him and Lily Tomlin on the set of I Heart Huckabees?

Jessica Biel is a body without a mind. She's hot as fuck, but she might as well only act in pornos. I really don't need neither her nor Jessica Alba anywhere even NEAR films from directors like David O. Russell. They're not even in the same league.

Nothing she's done leads me to think she's dumb. Not at all. She seems like a very nice reasonable person. You don't think she's a good actress is fine but that just seems inappropriate to say. What has she done that leads you to say that?

The fact that she constantly allows directors and whatever to take advantage of her body, perhaps passing it off as something else (like "comedy"). I mean come on - those scenes in I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry are borderline exploitation! Not that I'm complaining mind you...

It looks like David O Russell is up to his old tricks again. On the set of Three Kings the director and star George Clooney nearly came to blows. Video of the director stridently berating Lilly Tomlin during the shooting of I Heart Huckabees made its way to the internet. Now the director's difficult demeanor may have struck again, leading to James Cann quitting his new movie, Nailed.
"James Caan did amicably part ways with this production due to creative differences. He wished all of the actors and production crew well when he departed," Caan's publicist confirmed to the NY Post. Creative differences! This is the great catch-all excuse in the movie world, and it could mean almost literally anything, including Caan having differences about the way the director was creatively yelling at him.
Nailed sounds like one odd movie, but I expect nothing less from this volatile genius. Apparently Jessica Biel plays a small-town waitress who gets a nail lodged in her skull; this leads to erratic behavior which in turn leads her to Washington DC, where she meets up with a young senator (Jake Gyllenhaal) who supports her efforts to get justice (against what or whom I don't really know). Interestingly, this news of James Caan quitting the movie is the first I've heard about him even being in it.

I can care less on who exploits Jessica Biel, the woman could do hardcore porn and id like her just the same. Good for her. However Jessica Alba is just a big fucking cocktease in every movie she does and is my least favorite actress IMO, im kinda way over her.

james cann has been replaced, also read on for another bit off casting
Just a couple weeks ago we got word that James Caan had been cast in Nailed, the new movie from fiery director David O. Russell, by way of a news item announcing that Caan had walked. In classic Russell form, the argument that led (in part) to the actor's departure concerned a cookie.
Now comes word [in THR] that Caan has been replaced by the only actor more brave (or more crazy) than Elliot Gould, the passion child of George Hamilton and Kenny Rogers, Craig Kenneth Bruderlin himself, James Brolin.
Also joining the cast is Kirstie Alley, playing a veterinarian and aunt to Jessica Biel, who is shot in the head with a nail gun. The nail subsequently lodged in Biel's mind grapes causes her to exhibit wild sexual urges, and she heads to Washington to fight for health care (alongside the recently cast Olivia Crocicchia) where she gets it on with congressman Jake Gyllenhaal.

Having seen what David O. Russell created with Three Kings (probably the best Iraq movie ever), I'm eager to see what he has to offer. The subject matter is intriguing, and I'd see Jake Gyllenhaal in just about anything. If the film is really good, I'll look forward to what should be a very interesting commentary track from Russell. ;)
By the way, I love how various movie sites are refering to Caan's "cookie monster" antics.

[COLOR="DarkRed"][Jake Gyllenhaal and Jessica Biel walked off the set of director David O. Russell's new movie Nailed on Friday, after producers failed to show they had enough money to pay its cast. The Screen Actor's Guild will keep all cast members from the movie until the production company shows there is enough money set aside in a union-mandated account. An on-set source tells the New York Times production on the movie is expected to resume this week. It's not the first scandal to strike set of the movie, which was co-written by Al Gore's daughter Kristin - veteran James Caan quit his cameo role last month after a bust-up with Russell.[ /COLOR]

If you saw The Illusionist, you know she can act. Her only problem is that she doesn't turn down scripts. She should have never gone anywhere near Stealth or Chuck & Larry.
Isn't the movie "Powder Blue" coming out sometime this year with a full on nude scene from Jessica? That's the only reason I know about that film or have ANY interest in seeing it.

I'm beginning to wonder if the movie will be nearly as interesting as the production. Both Russell and Stone seem to attract foul-ups whenever they film (though I don't think Russell has anything on Stone's experience with SALVADOR).
