Tech Deck Toys (yeah, the little skateboarders)

I was just wondering if anyone has seen some of these things before. They have some that are (seemingly in some cases) based on movie characters. My girlfriend works at a toy store and stumbled onto a Hunter S. Thompson with a lizard/dinosaur that she picked up for me (HUGE HST fan...and Johnny Depp...and Terry Gilliam...). I saw another that seemed to be based on "The Dude" and another that referenced Spicoli. Hunter was the only one that used the actual persons name and bio though (and the lizard is named Gonze :D). I just thought that was great, 'course I am pretty easily amused.

Haha, I randomly came across my one a few months ago, completely forgotten I even had the damn thing, it's not based on anything though, just some arrows or something on it, fun little things.

i failed my drivers test, b/c all i did in the back of my driver's ed class was play with tech decks, they got me through school. I actually got awesome at them, not that this is a good skill, but i was doing kickflips, heel flips, 360 flips, hardflips. I was better on these then i was with my real board.

btw, i think i know what you are talkin about, i have some skate brand figures, the brand says "X-concepts" they have the magnets on their feet and the little board right? i cant find shit on google though.

I work at Target on Long Island and they are always sold out so I guess they are making a big comeback.

These were a little bit after my time, but I've been seeing them lately and thinking of picking some up for the kid --- Now that I know there's a Hunter S Thompson-based one out there... Done deal. I'm off to Amazon as we spea... Well, I'm going to go look at Amazon.

EDIT: Um... Not finding anything. What am I searching for exactly? (tried "tech deck hunter thompson", "hunter thompson skateboard", "hunter thompson action figure", "hunter thompson figurine"....) :(

I never realized they based some of them off movie characters, i'm guessing this is one of the new ones taht come with the little 'thumb guy' figure? or is it just the graphic on the deck?

Heh yeah they were tons of fun when i was in high school, i even mad i little skate park out of scrap aluminum in my shop class.

Check link above (thanks for that Conz), and it is called "Hunter & Gonze". Fun little buggers though. These were after my time too (I'm 27), but fortunately I have the toy store hook-up :D.

And to answer the figure/board question: It is the little thumb figure based on Hunter, the board is just a plain red board.
