Is there really no thread (yet)? I searched the forums and honestly couldn't find one, but delete this otherwise.

...as the Stones are a favorite band, Scorcese a favorite director, and the trailer rather intriguing, I, even under 20 years, am greatly anticipating 'Shine a Light' (http://imdb.com/title/tt0893382/), the director's latest concert film, though IMDb very briefly mentioned it's a carer-spanning documentary. However, Scorcese took nearly six hours to accomplish a full Dylan documentary ('No Direction Home'-- saw the first four then realized the next two would just be more of the same...lost the DVD), so I wonder how he can incorporate this into a time-limited theatrical release (though it seems many interview subjects are cited in the cast listings).

But the trailer was great, with a humorous little dispute between Mick and Marty over camera placement and movement, etc. There's really not much to say otherwise regarding it: Stones. Scorcese. Concert. April 4th.

Type away.

'Gimme Shelter'? Hmph, there's probably about three hours of footage in all of his films that include parts of that song playing...

i guess you`ve never heard of the rolling stones doco called gees wait for it gimme shelter about the Stones' 1969 tour, with much of the focus on the tragic concert at altamont.

And they`re a favourite band of yours?

It's Scorsese and the Stones.

Anyone not seeing this move is crazy.

Is the Last Waltz worth watching? I really like The Band. And I really like Scorcese... so I think I would like that doc... this one looks sick too.

It must have taken you a lifetime (and counting) to learn to tell time, because that documentary was only four hours long.

Not really sure where that came from, or entirely what you said, but I was just noting that Scorcese plays the song 'Gimme Shelter' a bit much.

Actually took about forty years. It was better learning time than watching the Stones' rise to greatness, capped by a timely Scorcese doc.

Never been a big stones fan myself, Sypathy for the Devil is their only track i really enjoy. Regardless of how good this flick my be it will never live up to the greatness that is The Last Waltz.
