So the car's officially a nearly undriveable POS, leaving me home and alone on a Friday night. Luckily, Blockbuster's a half-mile down the street, and I have my Blockbuster Movie Pass (!). So, after wiping your tears away, I need some opinions, gentlemen.

My general rule-of-thumb is, during the week, get a more entertaining, lighter-fared flick that clocks in under two hours (work in the morning...). But that shit goes out the window on weekends, so here are some first-time views I was looking at for Friday and Saturday nights:

-'Brazil'
-'Full Metal Jacket'
-'The Godfather, Part I' (yes, shoot me now)
-'The Shawshank Redemption' (it's been over a decade...)
-'Kill Bill's
-write-in

If y'all had some suggestions or votes, please throw them down; I'm trying to accomplish something of cinematic greatness here, and I figure two or three films this weekend is a starting point. As of now, I'm looking at 'The Godfather' and/or 'Brazil' (LOVED 'Time Bandits'), as Kubrick's classic's actually less than two hours (like 112 mins. or something...), but I await replies. Thanks, amig(o/a)s.

BRAZIL!! BRAZIL!! You owe it to yourself to watch this one all the way to the end. You must promise to watch it all the way to the last frame!

Credit roll as well? Hm. 'Brazil' tonight? 'The Godfather' tomorrow? Eh? Eh.

I'd say Godfather Part I. And don't feel bad, I've never seen it either, and I have the set on DVD so I really have no excuse...maybe I'll watch that tonight. Hmmm.

Just watched Full Metal Jacket last night cause of the 'they started out good....' thread and i have to say it is a pretty solid flick all the way through so i would recomend that one.

Brazil is so fantastic it's ridiculous.

If you're a druggie, I'd suggest you sinc it up with a night you're doing that.

Doing what, huh? What are you talking about? Are you implying something? Suggesting I do something illegal? Hmph.

Where do you live? Got a, er, guy?

If you haven't seen the Kill Bill movies that is ridiculous, you need to watch them immediately.

If you want some comedy, the first half of Full Metal Jacket is hilarious.

I've been told I vaguely resemble Private Joker. I think I'll have to see this now.

I'd think 'The Godfather' would be more of a necessity than 'Kill Bill', but alas, both seem to be.

The Godfather is great but Kill Bill is way more fun and Full Metal Jacket is way more funny.

I'd say the most urgent of those movies is The Godfather.

Ruin your own threads; please leave mine alone if that's what you're going to post. I'm trying to get some good picks, and that post, including this reply, really just wasted two minutes of my life.
