The annual Parade Magazine “What People Earn” issue is out today. After perusing the list, I decided to cast my own votes for the top ten overrated and overpaid celebs on the Parade List. The people here are only the ones listed on the Parade Magazine list. (other than ashley dupre)

10. Miley Cyrus at 18.2 Million. What can I say. I am not 15 and don’t have any kids…. After seeing the recent photo of her in her very disturbing “show it all” spandex outfit, I will be voting her as the most likely to either be in rehab or swinging from a pole by age 21.

9. 50 Cent at 33 Million.(rapper) He is apparently some rapper guy. Rapping in my book ended with Run DMC Regardless, anyone making millions talking fast to music is overrated….

8. Jeff Foxworthy (comedian) 10 million. I saw this guy last year at a charity benefit. You’re a red neck. We get it. Get over it…..

7. Mary Kate Olsen (actress-entrepreneur) 17 million. I always confuse her with Hillary Duff. When you are interchangeable you are overrated….

6. Jessica Alba (actress) 10 million, Everyone agrees you are hot…. and what else……..?

5. Chelsea Lynn, (Television reporter-Alaska) $28,900 With a name like that she would do a lot better making porn.

4. Any actor or actress on Desperate Housewives……

3. Ashley Alexandra Dupree, amounts unknown, the call girl extraordinaire of Eliot Spitzer fame will cash in somehow although her prospects are dwindling by the day….. She should have taken the million from Girls Gone Wild while she could. Unfortunately for her there is now nothing left to the imagination. When guys have seen it before they pay for it, the fantasy bubble is busted and you are condemned to the ranks of the overrated…. The hottest most highly rated women always have their clothes on…….

2. Trouble ( Leona Helmsleys dog), 12 million. Trouble the dog beats out Dr. Phil because unlike Dr. Phil at least there is documented theraputic value to holding her and you will probably see it coming if you are going to get bitten….

Dr. Phil is not only the most over-rated and overpaid talk show host(and thats all he is) in America. He is the most dangerous. He uses a facade of credibility he does not have to meddle in the lives of people already in a fragile state. He is not the first talk show host to do this but he is the most agressive about it. Everyone is familiar with his unwanted intrustion into the fragile life of Britney Spears. Most recently his show paid the bail for one of the girls charged with the now infamous” Youtube beating in an attempt to get her on the show. Who the hell does he think he is playing a life or death game with these young people. A degree on the wall does not qualify him to meddle and anyone who thinks his agenda is to help is delusional in the extreme….

Dr Phil beats out Paris Hilton here hands down. At least she is harmless…….

Funny that. "Overpaid". By whose standards is that exactly? Dr. Phil may be a tool, but he's written several bestselling books and he has a talk show that is syndicated around the world. His show is really popular in America - says here (http://tv.zap2it.com/tveditorial/tve_main/1,1002,272|||syndicated,00.html) that he has the #7 syndicated show in the country. I don't get the overpaid thing. He's obviously working hard, he's not forcing anyone to watch his show or buy his books. Technically, ALL celebs are overpaid, especially actors. Now, if you make lots of money doing something that isn't acting, then I can see how you MIGHT be earning it. Take musicians... or so called musicians like rappers and teen singers... at least they're out there, touring, sweating, and hauling ass around the world to "earn" their cash. Actors... fuck those assholes. Even if I like them... fuck them. Where else can you DEMAND MILLIONS, just for showing up for work? It's fucking bullshit, and it THE reason why Hollyweird's budget's are spiraling out of control. And CG... fucking CG.

My pick is Jake Gyllenhaal. This clown cant act his way out of a paper bag and the only thing I liked him in was Zodiac (mainly because of the direction by Fincher). He was out of his league when he was doing scenes with Downey Jr (now THERES a fuckin actor!).

I hate his voice and I still cant get the image of Bubble Boy out of my head.

Not to mention this guy isnt worth his paycheck. He doesnt put butts in the seats (as most of his movies are flops).

So yeah, my pick goes to Jake Gyllenhaal.

I think he's a great fucking actor, one of the best ever.. but I'm nominating Jack Nicholson's performance in The Departed.

It was just all over the place.. and something that didn't fit. he looked old and tired and like he didn't wanna be there. He got blown out of the water by Leo, Whalberg, and Damon. Hell, even Alec Baldwin gave more emotion. I dunno.. I've seen The Departed over 15 times now, and while I love it, I can't help but notice how overrated he is in that movie. IMO of course

so heath ledger, doing what he did to "become" the joker in a sense was just showing up for work? fuckin a...that "showing up for work" is more than likely the reason for his suicide/overdose. was he overpaid for "showing up for work" even though he went above and beyond his capacity? he could have just come onto set and "played" as the joker...but he "was" the joker (of course, assuming this performance of the joker is, bar none, the best ANYONE has ever seen). christian bale playing his role in the machinist? really? so him not sleeping and not eating is him just showing up for work? hell, even a small role like charlie sheens from ferris beuler? he didn't sleep for 2 whole days to achieve a look that was shown on screen, for what...2 minutes tops? sure, there are some actors that are overpaid, i'm not disagreeing with you there...but there are some that go above and beyond just "showing up for work." so therefore not ALL celebs, especially actors, are overpaid.

I don't begrudge them their salaries... at least not the good ones. It isn't simply 'showing up'. Often times they spend months at a time away from home, working sixteen hour days and putting themselves through an emotional ringer in order to get it right.
I begrudge the celebrity status given to reality 'stars' this day in age. You want a bunch of talentless wastes? Reality television has certainly delivered these by the truckload.

I don't agree with this one man. He went toe to toe with Ledger in BROKEBACK MOUNTAIN and held his own, especially the whole confrontation scene at Brokeback Mountain. That scene alone was probably what got him the Oscar nomination. He's a talented dude.

I get what you're saying, but even what SOME actors go through for a part, in some of their movies... does that really warrant $20million? No, it doesn't. And somebody like Bale in The Machinist, I respect that shit. He got paid jack diddly, and almost killed himself for the role. Then you get somebody like Jim Carrey, who demands $20million, shows up, and phones in his performance. It's sickening, and unjust... just like real life eh?

Celebs should get a base salary, then if they go above and beyond, they should get more, then if the movie does well, they should get a % of B.O. I disagree with celebrities being "overpaid." If we didn't eat up Hollywood, and all of America using it as our "escape," they wouldn't be paid nearly as much. They're providing us a service, and it's one of the services we use the most to get out of our work-a-day lives for at least a few hours.

Should teachers and doctors be paid more? Fuck yes.

Should actors be paid less? All how you look at it I suppose.
