On the set of the new James Bond Movie - Quantum of Solace - the famous Aston Martin ended up in the Garda Lake.
The driver was (probably) speeding along the curvy curvy lakeside roads of the Lake to the set and thanks also to the wet road, the car ended up in the lake.
The driver was able to get out of the car, but it took a bit to haul the car from the bottom of the lake.

Unfortunately, a local stuntman died in Sesto San Giovanni that same day. He was simulating some stunt for the local Italian TV series version of ER and was also set to work on the upcoming James Bond movie. His name was Nicolò Ricci, and he was only 30. Poor guy.:(

Bond car plunges into Lake Garda

A stunt driver has crashed the car used by movie secret agent James Bond into Italy's Lake Garda during filming of 007's latest movie Quantum of Solace.

The driver was delivering the iconic Aston Martin DBS to the film scene in heavy rain when he lost control around one of the lake's narrow curves.

The driver was quickly rescued and taken to hospital with minor injuries.

Italian TV showed the car, reportedly the only one available for use in the film, being winched out of the lake.

Filming for the movie - starring Daniel Craig as the latest Bond - has already taken the crew to England, Panama, Chile and Mexico.

The newest film in the long-running 007 franchise is to be released later this year.

A new accident occurred today on the set of Quantum of Solace.
A stuntman was harmed while during a car accident.

He's been taken to an hospital nearby.
And as regards the accident of a few days ago, the driver has been fined for speeding.

I heard a different report that said that the car that went into the water wasn't one that was going to be used for filming, but instead was going to be shown at an expo to promote the film, hense shooting continuing on schedule. That does really suck about the new accident, hope the stuntman is doing well.

An update.
The accident involved two stuntmen, one was lightly wounded, but the other is still in the Intensive Care Unit and the prognosis is still under reserve.
At the local news, they say that the production has been stopped.

It's been car wrecks galore for the new James Bond movie, "Quantum of Solace."

For the second time in a week, a terrible accident involving stunt drivers occurred on the Italian set of the latest Bond flick.

Italian officials say a stuntman suffered serious head injuries when he and another stuntman crashed during a car chase sequence on a winding lakeside road. The second stuntman was slightly injured.

Oh no! Luckily he didn't go over that bridge! How scary.

The source of this is me: I've just seen the local news.
James Bond' production just returned to the Garda Lake, hoping for a better weather than the rain that is pouring.
On the other hand the production told they're going to give as a present an ambulance to ask forgiveness for the problems they may have caused.
The local stores and bars were really happy of the fact that the production was there for a while.
It "caused" a gain of 1,500,000 euros.

I can't believe the production problems this movie is battling. Cars destroyed, serious injuries, horrible weather. Here's hoping the movie doesn't suffer because of it.
