Only a month after releasing his instrumental CD "Ghosts", Trent Reznor is teasing a full-length traditional album in "just two weeks". The new song, Discipline debuted this morning on KROQ, who reports that Alan Moulder finished mastering the song yesterday and they received an e-mail from Trent Reznor around 1 p.m. that just said "two weeks!" The last time Reznor teased a time, it was the release of "Ghosts", which reportedly has sold more than $2 million worth of product since its online launch. We'll report back in two weeks with details on what is rumoured to be "Year Zero 2".

The new single is already out. It's not bad. Imagine "Closer" "The Hand That Feeds" and "Only" having a love child and that's what it sounds like.

Edit: Nevermind I'm a fucking idiot.

Heh, guess he's sick of the whole 5-6 year breaks between albums.

A) Is there any real evidence other then "Discipline" to suggest that it'll be an actual NIN studio LP as opposed to another Ghostsesque release?

B) Where can I find "Discipline" to hear it?

Josh Freese has a picture of him up on NIN.com with a drum set and microphones around it. Recording something. Another picture shows Trent with Alan and Atticus and Alex behind a mixing table. Alan only comes in to mix and finalize stuff. Robin Finck had a picture of him with a guitar. Granted he could be getting ready for the tour. But he could be recording guitar stuff. That and there is an article that stats that a "proper" album will be released in may. This article came out about a month ago. Reports are saying that it's coming out in July, but who knows. What is known is that there is new music, whether it be an EP or LP, coming.

Man....that new single is pretty fucking weak.

It's not as bad as "Deep" but if this is an accurate representation of the new LP, I have no doubts it will be bland as fuck.

I'm really behind on shit, I just now downloaded the new single..

It's okay..

I hope if he's coming out w/ something new, it's a really strong EP-release in the same vein as Broken..

When the members of Tool and Nine Inch Nails release a hardcore sex tape, this forum will be anarchy.

I like what I've heard of it so far.

It's bland, uninspired, and provides nothing new or interesting to anyone who has followed Nine Inch Nails even marginally.

Trent Reznor is the man. He used LAME 3.97 VBR to encode this free download.

He ripped on Radiohead for offering people to pay for In Rainbows when it was a crappy iTunes encoder 160k rip.

He was on OiNK, one of the biggest and best music private Bit Torrent sites, before it got shut down and he was a big proponent of the site and admitted it in interviews.

I LOVE how Reznor is a real person! I like the new single too. I've been behind since The Downward Spiral and With Teeth...

Nine Inch Nails hammers concert ticket scalpers with new policy

NEW YORK - In a move meant to get fans into premium seats and bypass ticket brokers and scalpers, industrial-rock band Nine Inch Nails has reserved tickets to each of its upcoming summer tour dates for registered users of its website, NIN.com.

The limited allotment of tickets will be made available through online pre-sales only to users registered under their legal names on NIN.com. Tickets acquired through these pre-sales will be marked with the purchaser's name and will have to be picked up at the appropriate venue on the date of the event. A valid government-issued ID matching the name printed on the ticket will be required for entrance.

The pre-sales will begin about 72 hours before general online ticket sales for each event.

Nine Inch Nails' summer tour kicks off July 25 at the Pemberton Festival in Pemberton, British Columbia, and continues through September 6.

Nine Inch Nails' new fan ticketing procedure follows similar strategies from bands like Pearl Jam and Maroon 5, who have also required fans who purchase tickets from their websites to pick up tickets with valid I.D. at the concert only.

Cool. I love this, constant stream of new material (which i like aswel), he's really been working hard. Never expected this much! Both of those tracks are pretty cool to, i like Discipline alot more out of the 2 right now.

Echoplex.....another song that doesn't really present anything interesting to the long-time NIN fan.

I'm really shocked at Trent's sudden productivity--as I'm sure anyone else who remembers the insanely long wait between The Downward Spiral and The Fragile (with just Natural Born Killers and "Perfect Drug" to satiate us in all that time in between) is too.

I really like "Echoplex"--if this is the direction he's taking NIN, more power to him. Cleaner and far less gritty than Year Zero which I also loved however.
