But in my eyes the biggest cinimatic bad ass and under rated hero is my man Tom Atkins, See im an aspiring horror film and novel creator and if I could I would give him a leading role and a movie devoted to him kicking ass and getting chicks cuz thats what he does effortlesly every movie hes in, So thank you Tom Atkins For kicking ass thrue The Fog, The Howling, Maniac cop, Halloween3,Night of the Creeps,Hell evan your small role in creepshow, you are an American cinimatic hero !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just posted my favorite Tommy Atkins performances and films on another thread. His work in THE FOG, ESCAPE FROM NEW YORK, HALLOWEEN III, CREEPSHOW, LETHAL WEAPON and especially NIGHT OF THE CREEPS makes him one of the most underrated genre actors out there, along with John Saxon! WTF ever happened to either of those guys? Saxon had a cameo in the Quentin Tarantino-directed episode of CSI a few years back, and I think Atkins has done a few Law & Order episodes. They need to be lured back into horror!

Saw My Bloody Valentine 3D yesterday and it was yet another great performance by The Atkins.

SPOILERS
I was disappointed that he didn't have more screen time. Obviously, he was my favorite character. I was a little pissed off that he gets killed. At least it was an awesome kill, though. The killer's pickaxe went through Atkins' mouth and then the killer ripped his jaw off. Because the effect was in 3D, it looked like the jaw was flying right at you! It was one of the few cool 3D effects in the movie. The ending sets up for a sequel. I'm just mad that they didn't let him live long enough to be in it.

I saw that in last month's Fango, I was PO'ed as well. Poor Tom. :(

I never saw the original My Bloody Valentine, so I didn't really want to see the remake, but the second I heard The Atkins was in it that changed. Hopefully I'll catch it this weekend.

Truth. In his low-budget affairs its insanely obvious how talent he is, but even when in Lethal Weapon, put up with big names like Mel Gibson, he STILL shines.

If he became a bigger star he would have ceased to be cool and he would have been dating the latest airheaded starlet , it's the fact that he is an outsider playing with the insiders that makes him cool . That and 1000s of other things .

He's a genuine throwback and after all this time he hasn't changed , i always liked continuity , when you're as cool as this guy , progressiveness is a negative .

Not kidding...me and my buddy bought two 40's at about 12pm on a weekday we were both off, and I helped he watch a few first time movies for him... Story of Ricky,American Psycho & Night of the Creeps...during Night of the Creeps I showed him that shirt and he instantly bought it at my house off the web.

Tom Atkins owns. He no doubt had the greatest line in Maniac Cop. He made Night of the Creeps and no doubt his presence made Halloween III that much more enjoyable. I was glad to see him back in action in the MBV remake but also was hoping things would have been different for him. I'm lucky enough to have gotten to meet the man and he was really laid back and cool and even confirmed that Night of the Creeps was the best time he ever had filming a movie:
