they're all great. His show is terrible and his acting is stale. He's Matthew Mc's alter ego.

Patrick Dempsey, stop sucking. Your acting is unremarkable... I don't find you appealing at all. What is it about you that makes the women swoon?

I liked him back when he was the quirky kid in the 80's movies.
Now, he's a big headed shnook that they've attached a sex symbol label to and they're trying to beat us over the head with.

I'll pass.

He's underwhelming as an actor and looks wise, he's generic... then again many people are partial to the typical generic type of celebrity.

I got no problem with him.

I think it's good that he's been able to make a comeback after the teen 80's years.

More power to him!

I sort of get it. He is kinda cute. I prefer him now than as a lanky teen. He's pretty without being feminine, and yeah, he's "Mc Dreamy." :D

I dunno... I find him boring appearance-wise.

I was halfway through this thread before I realized it was PATRICK DEMPSY and not NIEL PATRICK HARRIS.

Phew. Fuck an a right Patrick Dempsy is all of the things said in here. Why don't we just replace the man with a carbon copy of Niel Patrick Harris?

I love how Neil Patrick Harris is beloved by many now.:p

Not a fan of his show. But I like Dempsey. He's cool with me. I liked in Scream 3 and Enchanted in particular.

he seems to play in the same movies/roles but with different titles. like fook said, more power to him for coming back...not many 80's stars can do that, but still...

get a different role or something. i swear he's typecast as being some dreamy guy that gets into some situation where he can't have the girl he wants until the very end because she's getting married to someone else or some shit.

seriously, maybe he should get out of that genre and start doing movies where he's killing people and throwing babies over castle walls (provided he does a movie involving castles and babies).:D

I'm going to be the voice of dissent here and say that I like Patrick Dempsey.

I think his appeal comes from not only being a physically attractive man, but from having that sort of sensitive, nice-guy persona that a lot of women (and gay men, for that matter) like.

Also, I think he has a lot more talent than people are willing to give him credit for. Don't get me wrong, you'll never see him standing at the podium giving an Oscar acceptance speech, but he is quite capable of serious dramatic acting, such as in the 1998 TV production of Crime and Punishment, or more light-hearted roles like in the film With Honors. Sadly, he's not had much of an opportunity as an adult to prove this, as he seems to have landed roles mostly in forgettable romantic comedies (Sweet Home Alabama, Lucky Seven) and equally forgettable horror flicks (Scream 3, Outbreak).

As for Grey's Anatomy, that show is fun. It's entertainment in its purest form. There's no agenda, no political message, and it's not meant to educate. It's just about the lives and loves of a group of friends as they struggle to make it in their chosen field. It's a great blend of soap opera and comedy, but certainly not something I'd expect to appeal to a bunch schmoes.
