I don't know if there's already a thread on this, but I just realized something about the rape scene in Irreversible (just got done watching it). Y'know, the part where that guy appears in the background while the Tenia/Alex were facing forward, and then just turns away and leaves without stopping the rape? I'll bet he's the one who called the police. It looked like he was starting to run as he left, and the cops showed up pretty soon after that. I'm guessing he had no cell phone, so the time it would've took him to run up and find the nearest phone, and for the cops to arrive, makes sense within the time frame (taking 5 or 10 minutes if he showed up halfway through the rape). Plus, I can see why he left. Playing hero could've made things worse.
Does that make sense? Or do you think someone else just happened upon Alex in the underpass AFTER the fact?
