Can't Fast Forward

How many times have you popped a dvd into your player and been unable to skip the copyright shit? Sometimes it's really annoying to sit through all of that garbage that we've all seen far too may times. Infact, some dvds are coded in such a way that if you try and fast frame or advance at that point, it will start over. I guess they're trying to tell us all something. Some copyright messages are more boring than others. And while I realise it's a necessary thing to have, it can get quite mundane with soem titles.

Also, the what are you really watching before some movies you can't skip. Most you can, but with some, it's really annoying. Here in Australia there is this 'are you watching what you paid for' campaign with a guy and a furnace. So far I've had maybe two dvds that allow you to skip that. I tried everything. Menu button, skip, fast forward. None of it works.

Minor rant I guess.

Not digging the topic, but I usually just pop it in the player until the menu's up with the actual TV off; maybe throw somoething in the microwave to eat during the show. Multi-tasking anyone?

Besides, it's federal legal mandate to do so (obviously).

Part of why I generally just watch DVDs on my computer now, can skip all that crap. If I use a standalone player I stick it in, go off to get a drink or whatever and by the time I come back the menu's waiting for me.

I hate this shit too, especially when it's a porn. You got the tissues ready and the girlfriend is going to be back home any minute. I just don't have time to read about how every "actor" is over 18 for two minutes for fucks sake!
