Upcoming instore gigs - UK

For me one of the best ways to try out a band, and nab some signed swag while you're at it, is to go and see them playing one of these free instore gigs. I've been to alot, and only two or three have disappointed. So I thought I'd try and put together a calendar of upcoming events that schmoes could go to. If you go along to any it might also be good to use this thread to pop up a few thoughts on it here.

might go see the ting tings at hmv as i like both great dj and that's not my name...i'll have to get there early i expect as they are based in salford and probably have quite a few fans locally.

the legend mark e smith was at zavvi the other week and it was a wee bit mobbed apparently.

i don't generally go to in-store gigs...the last one i saw was sparks at hmv on oxford street.

Best thing might be to check them out on the music blogs (try running a search at hypemachine, which is my blog aggregator of choice) or on youtube.

Personally I'm going to see Ting Tings and Dan Le Sac vs Scroobius Pip at Zavvi. I've also been meaning to investigate Thao, as I've heard good things about her and Santogold's single is pretty good too. I've also heard good things about the new Spiritualised album.
