There's obviously a solid prevalence of best, worse, favorite, etc. musical works, and, honestly, this isn't much different. I just was thinking of some of the reasons why I like/dislike certain album, and how I would specifically 'catalog' them (figuratively, of course...). I lead, you follow...

Biggest waste-of-money - Joe Budden's debut (forget actual name) - After this abomination, I think we all now that our friendly neighborhood Joe is stuck on the corner "Pump-pump-pumping gas..."

Most poetic - TIE - Dylan's 'Blood on the Tracks' and Nas's 'Illmatic'. After hearing the latter for probably the 15th time or so, I finally remain 110% confident there is no better embodiment of what rap SHOULD be, and the best album from the best songwriter ever needs no intro, right?

Artist I want to hate but don't...and actually can't get enough of - Jack Johnson - he's a surfer with a relatively decent talent on guitar whose lyrics cover banana pancakes, jungle gyms, bubble gum, blowing bubbles, etc., obviously leaving me wondering if I really am not an 11-yr. old girl not unfortunately stricken with mild autism...

Artist not worth my time but gets it anyway - TIE - Immortal Technique and Timbaland - Make a fucking statement...but not the same one EVERY single f'ing song...hot damn. But he's a ridiculously skilled lyricist whose dropped some pretty mind-blowing tracks. Timbaland, everyone's favorite songwriter-of-the-year, is almost the compelte foil to the former: despite his award of achievement, I'm tired of the shit he writes, but there's a reason the guy almsot literally has the Midas touch. Even devout underground heads like myself can barely resist addiction...

Most underappreciated musician - Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart - That's right, forget you if you disagree. The kid, VERY well shy of even 10, was touring Europe, performing piano sonatas and concertos before his triumph.

Best album you've likely never given a chance - Miles Davis' 'Kind of Blue' - not a single word, just five tracks (six with newer releases, which have a slightly modified version of the final track) of arguably the best jazz performance and recording ever.

If I did drugs, my favorite album would be... - TIE - Dangerdoom's 'The Mouse and the Mask' and Madvillain's 'Madvillainy' - Both very different ends of the spectrum, but both, for lack of a better term...very trippy. Hell, on Madvillainy, MF DOOM even starts rapping about how's he's got the best-rolled Ls...on the cleverly-titled track "America's Most Blunted"...

Make your own categories, follow me, just have some fun...

Most poetic album- Pink Moon by Nick Drake.

Album not worth my time but gets it anyway- From Here to Infirmary by Alkaline Trio. Nostalgic reasons only.

Most underappreciated artist- not Mozart, that's for sure. I mean, kids these days don't like him, but he's widely regarded as having the greatest musical mind in known history. I would say Rory Gallagher.

Since I do drugs, my favorite album is...- still do not know. I could probably limit it to a select few, like Graceland or Pink Moon and a few others.

Granted, regarding Mozart. I guess I'm disgruntled by my contemproary peers' ignorance. Also, Paul Simon's 'Graceland' is a personal favorite...good call. Top 5 out of the '80s.
