I am so sick of people who walk out of a movie, then give it a bad review. Do you realize that the other half of the flick could be good? I have never walked out of a movie and never will, no matter how bad it is. Sorry if its a short rant. I didn't know what else to say.

This is just like that GENERAL MOVIE TALK thread. About people walking out.
Yeah, well... based on my experience, 99.9% of movies that fucking SUCK ASS for the first half will not be any better in the last half, either.
So, I say... walk the fuck out. Or sit through it and be in misery until it's done... and have the same conclusion.

You could get an honest feel about how shitty a movie is from the first hour or so.. I completely agree. If youre sitting there watching King Kong and you walk out, you haven't gotten to the movie yet. But I walked out of Alien vs Predator. A whole bunch of my friends and I walked into there like it was gonna be the next best thing since sliced bread.. I knew it was pg-13, but it was alien vs fucking predators!! We walked out after an hour or so. It fucking sucked. I didn't finish it.
I have no problem with people saying movies suck after they walk out of them. Either the movie really did suck, or it just wasn't what they were expecting.

I went to go see Eyes Wide Shut, and spent three miserable hours watching it.
I wanted to leave after the first 40 minutes or so, but stayed because I thought my friend wanted to stay and watch it. Three hours pass, we leave, and we start blasting the movie. Finally, I said - god, I wanted to leave after the first half hour. He then tells me he wanted to do the same thing but stayed because he thought I wanted to stay and watch it. Oy.
I also wanted to walk out on Meet Joe Black. I never saw a movie with so many endings in my life. The last hour is like one good-bye speech after the next.
I should say that I don't hate Kubrick, I just couldn't stand that movie.

I have never walked out on a movie. The closest one in recent memory that I came extremely close to walking out of was Ghost Rider. What a disgraceful film. Actually, I also almost walked out of the extended cut of Death Proof as well. During the scene in the diner I was about to rip my eyeballs out through boredom!! Then Russell went and became a pussy, after being such a badass at the start. Anyway, I don't agree with the OP. As a few have said before, if a movie sucks for the first hour, chances are it will suck to the bitter end. However, if you walk out within 30 minutes, then you may want to bite your tongue.

I don't walk out of movies because I don't go to see crap but I will turn off a shitty film at home... From previous experience if the first 20-30 minutes are garbage, the other 60+ minutes are as well. I've seen enough shitty horror films to know this is true :D.

I think you can tell early on how you feel about a movie and the rest of it won't change your mind...but I do agree that if you're gonna discuss it or give your review, you've gotta add that you only watched x% of it.
I tend to hate people who calim to love a film, but when you mention dialogue or details they don't remember them...but they remember they thought it was cool...WHY? Form an opinion and back it up, or don't talk to me about it.

I rarely walk out because I will not go see movies that I know that I'm going to hate beyond reason.
The only movies I would have are the movies that my school forced me to see like Little Woman(remake)back in the 1990's. I generate if I was allowed to walk out. I would have.

I almost walked out on Speed Racer today. :D
And I definitely let the people I went to see it with know how I felt about it afterwards (total suckfest).

At $11 dollars a freaking ticket, I'll make it the best experience of my life. No matter how bad the movie might be. I'll think to myself "That was one of the greatest shots of a tree I've ever seen".
Also, I don't care if people walk out of a movie and say it sucks. Long as they don't make a huge scene while walking out. AKA throwing a full cup of soda into the crowd or something.

Only movie I ever walked out on in the theater: Underworld.
Left about halfway through, and I go around saying it sucks. But I doubt the movie ever got any better than: "RANDOM PERSON POPS OUT FROM BEHIND A PILLAR WITH A MACHINE GUN, FIRES AT THE HEROES" which happened about a dozen times.
Now I just stop going to shitty movies in the theater.
