Wow Poltergeist has to be one of the only pg or pg-13 horror movies that actually does it for me, I watch it and the two sequals(though not as good at all) once a year, and today was my annual veiwing. Now the first thing Poltergeist has going for it very very strongly developed charictors, in fact this film has some of the best charictor development in horror history, it made me feel as if I was part of the family. Evan though this certified classic is pg it still manages not to sugar coat or water down its content some of wich I dont know how got in to a pg movie, (like the parrents smoking bud and when the paranormal investigator rips his own face off). This film also did a great job at useing mundane childhood fears and turn them in to a reality of nightmares especially that goddamn clown(always creeped me out as a kid). My only beef is how after they get carol ann back from the other side they insist on staying in the house in seperate rooms at that, but fuck it!!!
