Each year I throw a huge Halloween blowout, but usually just play some upbeat party music to back it up. This year I want to find the most hellacious music from horror film scores, you know, the stuff that creeps you the hell out. I got good ones in mind. The Omen is probably the most chilling I can think of. Amityville Horror, Halloween, The Shining, they're all great scores. I am just hoping someone can give me ideas I haven't thought of yet. I don't mean give me the creepiest movies, because for some of them, the music is still just music. I want the chilling scores. Any ideas?

just play the slower slayer songs and you'll get the job done.

I have the soundtrack for Halloween 4. That has alot of creepy music.
J.C's The Thing has a really good score. Its hard to find. But there is a CD thats pretty easy to find called "Best of John Carpentar" or something like that. The music is redone but it still sounds close to the original. It has themes from The Thing, The Fog, Prince of Darkness, and Halloween 1 and 2.
I use some Skinny Puppy stuff on my Halloween party CDs too. They have some odd songs. The BILE song Demonic Electronic is a good creepy song.
Music from the Phantasm flicks is good.

Candyman
Amityville Horror (79)
The Exorcist
Hellraiser
Suspiria
The Omen (76)
Invasion Of The Body Snatchers (78)
The Beyond
Creepshow
Silent Hill (Any of the video game soundtracks)
April Fools Day
Angel Heart
Child's Play
Akira (Some weird noises creep up in that score)
Pet Sematary
Rosemary's Baby
Inside
Stir Of Echoes
Ginger Snaps
But if you want to creep people out Fantomas self titled album and any albums by Axis Of Perdition or Throbbing Gristle or the song "Frankie Teardrop" by Suicide would do.

I would also throw in the DVD for Bravo's 100 scariest movie moments..there's a sequel too called even more scariest movie moments. Has clips of films ranging from Dracula and Frankenstein all the way to Hostel, Audition and Devil's Rejects. Good to have on the TV and it's around 6 hours long all together. I recorded it last year but you can get it on amazon. Something for people to look at while the party is going on and while the music is playing.
The exorcist music creeps me out. Basically everything Frank the Tank said is pretty good. Also the score from "Alien" is pretty good...there's a couple of good creepy aatmosphere tunes on the soundtrack to "Interview with the Vampire" as well. I used one as my background score for an acting class exercise where I commited suicide. :D
