Assuming that bands like Linkin Park, Nickelback, Maroon 5, etc don't even need mention.

Blink-182 and every subsequent ripoff.
DragonForce, or any band influenced by fast-playing hacks like Michael Angelo Batio and Yngwie Malmsteen.
Any indie rock band consisting of thirty or more interchangable members.
Any hardcore Christian band.
Come to think of it, most hardcore bands.
Almost any nu-metal band.
The remaining members of Sublime.
Any band consisting of grown men wearing masks.
Any band that has been influenced by everything else I've mentioned.

I don't have enough time.

So there is actually a band called The Feeling?! Good lord, I got diabetes just reading that name. I've never heard their music, but I'm sure it's a cross between Coldplay and Keane...but worse.

Almost every teenage-audience inclined band that begins with "The" and consists of hippieish, pretentious music, retarded lyrics and shitty-fuck vocals that sound like the guy is yodeling. Re: The White Stripes, The Strokes, The Hives (oh gawd, The Hives), The Killers (though that one "When You Were Young" got catchy after Guitar Hero/Rock Band), etc, etc.

Fuck 'em all.

And every band where at least one guy wears eyeliner.
And Avenged Sevenfold. I can tolerate the music in small doses, but the instant I see the bandmembers, it's when I just can't take it anymore. "Zacky Vengeance"? "Synister Gate"? What the hell are these guys on? That goes beyond fun self-deprication, it's just fucking stupid.

Actually, their music is much more happy/poppy sounding. I'm probably the one person around who likes them, but I can perfectly understand why they turn people off.

To contribute: the German band TOKIO HOTEL. No wait, forget I ever mentioned them since that's only giving more attention to them.

i'm absolutely convinced that Three Days Grace is the worst band to ever score a record deal.

Others include:
Nickelback
Hinder
Buckcherry
Blue October
Avenged Sevenfold
AFI
Better Than Ezra
The All American Rejects
Good Charlotte

basically all the radio-friendly "hard" rock that has come into popularity as of late (although I admit to enjoying some Fall Out Boy...)

All Nu Metal

all country that's not Garth Brooks or The Dixie Chicks (they've had some good songs...)

All Rap that's not Jay-Z, Talib Kweli, Kanye West, T.I. or DMX

Clampy K

So many that I couldn't possibly list them all but a few off the top of my head...

Dave Matthews and any other 'jam' band like and including Phish.
Eric Clapton
The Counting Crows
Rush
The Police
Nickleback, of course.
Rascal Flatts

Thankfully, I haven't had the mis-fortune to hear most of the bands previously mentioned so I can't verify their sucky-ness.

I don't see the logic in some of the bands listed (ie, Foo fighters, Rush, Clapton, etc.), artist that have proved to be archetypes and standout musicians to their genre. But overall every band/artist I loath has been listed over and over again, which is a good thing me thinks.

Here's a list of artists/groups I hate and wish death upon (of which I believe haven't been mentioned):

50 cent
Girls Allowed
Spears
Jennifer Lopez
Ashlee Simpson
Yin-Yang twins
Paris
Akon
Usher
3 Doors Down
Matchbox Twenty
Nick Cannon
T-Pain
Soulja Boy
Kid Rock

Plus more, but I'm having a difficult time remembering who I hate... will be back...

Rush

 We can never be friends, ever.

Same thing to who ever said Dragonforce

Anyways, some bands I would wish death upon:

Nirvana.. oh wait.. haha bad joke.. Really though they sucked.
The Hives
My Chemical Romance
Death Cab For Cutie (Ive actually never listened to this band, but they get a mention for the laughably bad band name, whether they are good or not)
System of A Down
Korn

Basically any band that sounds similar to any of the bands I mentioned.. Except DCFC since I haven't heard 'em.

Well I don't wish death on anyone. But bands I would wish mild harm upon (a chinese burn would suffice) are Level 42, The Police and Simply Red. Actually if i'm honest...a chinese burn is far to leniant a punishment for the likes of Sting and Mick Hucknall. A papercut on the bellend followed by a quick dip in some vinegar is closer to the mark methinks.

Rap, in general. With very few excptions, I just don't see the talent or use of'em in music.

Also, when a band breaks up and doesn't seem to be getting back together, like Blink 182, Creed, etc. does wishing their death still matter? They're already broken up

Good selections. All bands worth hating. Kudos Nightcrawler on Avenged Sevenfold. I think most metal today is laughably bad. They truly believe good music is about who can play the fastest. That's why so many of them sound alike and are interchangeable. I laugh every time I see a metal head who still dresses like Metallica did in the late 80's and there's a lot of them in California.

I wish they would listen to Fantomas and hear what creativity with the genre actually sounds like. But then again, they can't all be Mike Patton and Buzz Osbourne.

Just because someone's considered an archetype and standout musician doesn't mean you have to like them, right?

I never said that, I said I don't see the logic of wanting bands to "go away" or "die" if they've actually done something worth listening to in terms of artistic creativity and/or musical progression, whereas other bands completely exploit their genre to the detriment of it...

Of course there are artists, of which I loathe, that I wouldn't want to go away...

And I understand all this is simply a matter of opinion, i was just sharing mine.

It's okay. I think I was overexposed to it over here. I've seen so many metal bands waiting to see other bands play and at backyard gigs in high school that I got completely burned out on the genre. It all just sounded the same to me after a while. Also, I'm a rhythm man myself... I love a good beat with some soul and groove, and most metal lacks that for me. It's too THUD-THUD-THUD-THUD-THUD! Like that Lars Ulrich solo on youtube... Just not what I like to hear with drums. Again, it's just personal preference.

But I can still tell the difference between Slayer and Sepultura (who I dig) compared to the new stuff that's out today. :)

Aside from the obvious (Nickleback, Saliva, Hinder, Fall Out Boy, Good Charlotte, 3 Doors Down, etc)

This entire deathcore genre that's been polluting my area for the past couple of years. It's pretty much watered down death metal with lame pig squeal vocals and boring breakdowns in place of guitar solos. Examples include older Job For A Cowboy (Now they are just a meh death metal band), Elysia, As Blood Runs Black, Bring Me The Horizon, Knights Of The Abyss, Suicide Silence, etc.

There was a time that i could not stand looking at Bono and everytime i saw his face on tv i would change channel. But as i got curious one day and started liking a couple songs by u2 i realized that bono is probably the funniest guy i have ever seen and u2 is truly an amazing band. Itrs easy to judge bono by how much he is in your face but if you really look at what he is doing he is a great guy. Oh and by the way...he knows he is in your face a lot....thats how he wants to be....because the issue at hand is much more important that how you feel about Bono. And also he has made a difference in Africa...even if overall it doesnt seem that huge. So dont sit around and fucking judge him if you dont care to actually see what he has to say. Thanks

PS. only band better than u2 is MetallicA

Good Charlotte.
