Is anyone else sick of this bullshit where if you like a movie that has 2 gay people in it or if your a guy a chick flick and people think your queer for liking it?

Like for example I went to Wal-Mart with my brother because he came up from Arizona and he wanted to go to Wal-Mart really badly for some reason. So I see that Wal-Mart has a special edition copy of Brokeback Mountain. So I said "cool. Only $15." Then he says to me "oh my god you actually like that movie?" I said to him "yeah its a touching story. And so what if its between 2 gay people who love eachother?" He paused then said to me "i'm starting to think your gay yourself." And he bothered me the whole fucking day about it. Then later that day I went to Apple trailers and watched the trailer for the Sex And The City movie because I was a fan of the show and the movie looked good. So theres the little shit face right behind me and he says "you like Sex and the City! Your officaly queer!" My brother and my friends think i'm gay because I like these kind of movies. Has anyone else been through this bullshit?

I dunno when it comes to Brokeback Mountain, you may get some odd reactions from certain people. I bought Brokeback along with some other DVDs and I ran into a friend of mine who asked me what I got and took a look through them; upon seeing Brokeback, he says "this belongs in the garbage." Ha.

But anyway you see the problem you've put upon yourself. You have no problem watching a movie (or movies) about gay characters and it doesn't matter to you whether they're gay or not, but when someone calls you gay, you're offended by it.

Hmm, I don't know, Sex and the City AND Brokeback Mountain... I don't know man..... sounds pretty gay to me ;)

Kidding!

You're right to be upset though. Maybe don't tell your friends or brother that you like these sort of movies from now on.

^^thank you^^

What I hate, is when you say, "I thought Brokeback Mountain was a very boring, dull, drawn out flick, that almost put me to sleep.", and then get, "Uh, what are you, homophobic?" Uhm... no... I was just very disappointed in the movie. Just cause you like a movie that centers around Gay characters, doesn't mean you're gay. And just because you don't like a movie that centers around Gay characters, doesn't mean you're homophobic... unless of course you say, "That movie sucked! Any movie about them there fags, should be burned, just like them there gays!"... but even then, you're probably not homophobic. You just might be... a redneck. :D On the other side, if you spend the whole movie jacking it, then you just might be... gay. ;)

And yea, I just didn't like the movie. Twas okay, and nothing more... and Ledger SUCKED... sorry, but his performance was terrible.

The next time this discussion comes up, take a tip from Ron White:

"My friend's a homophobic. Isn't that just a wasted emotion? He goes around sayin' things like, 'Y'know this world'd be a lot better if there weren't so many queers.'

I said to him, 'Y'know what? The next time you have a thought...let it go. Listen, we're all gay. It's just a matter to what extent you're gay.'

He goes, 'That's bullshit, I ain't gay at all!'

I said, 'Yeah, you are, and I can prove it.'

He goes, 'Fine, prove it.'

'Okay, do you like porn?'

'Yeah, I love porn. You know that.'

'So do you only watch scenes with two women together?'

'No, I'll watch a man and women makin' love.'

'Oh, so do you only like the man to have a small, half-flaccid penis?'

'Naw, I like big hard throbbin' co.............'"

Wanting to see the Sex and the City movie is a bit questionable.;)

Nothing wrong with the Brokeback Mountain though. Tell them you are just a fan of great filmmaking thats all.

Now if you were to go and buy Rent AND Hairspray...then that might be pushin it.

It's so weird how that goes... I mean, guy friends have told me they didn't want to see it because it looks gross... That's different than what you apparently said which is an actual critique.

On the subject of Brokeback Mountain, my "beloved" uncle threw a huge fit at the mention of the movie. One night, the family was all together and we were talking about movies and that one was mentioned. All of a sudden he starts yelling:

"...that queers movie"

"....I don't want to see a bunch of fags...."

etc...

and then he proceeded to tell us how he feels that all gays should be hung immediately. He was serious. So my cousin tried to talk to him, saying something like "well, what if your son/daughter was gay..." which only made him scream even more. Fucking jackass.

I've run into this over watching Torchwood on BBC America. Never mind the fact that it's like a Saturday night ritual, my wife and I watch it without fail. Most people who have a problem with it enjoyed the first few episodes before they found out that a couple of the characters just happen to be bi.

Some people are just a bit hung up with their own problems I guess.

Me and my friends were on the subject of the Dark Knight and how amazing Heath Ledger looks as the Joker. But this one asshole kid was all like "But he was in that fag one movie man, he's a freakin' queer."

I almost hit him right then and there.

Fucking ignorant douche bags.

You show far more self restraint than I do - I WOULD have punched him, then kicked him, then drug his unconscious meat pile into the middle of the road and left it there to be run over.

You're trained in MMA, right? You probably would have been arrested, charged with using your trained skills against someone who has no skills of that kind, and gotten 20 to 30 years for aggravated assault against someone who expressed an OPINION, ignorant as it may be...:)

Not liking the film is one thing, but saying that about Ledger's performance? It was one of the finest pieces of acting of all time, and if you can't see that then I seriously must say that your ability to judge acting is way off.

The only thing that makes you gay is your preference in sexual partners. And if you are, who gives a shit what people think?

In that case, Grammar is so much cooler than Spelling. Spelling sucks.
