View Full Version : My girlfriend is in love with someone else... and his name is Seth Rogen.
Every time I mention a comedy involving Seth Rogen, my girlfriend makes it her point to vocalize how she would make love to Seth Rogen and have his children. Now, my problem is, I have no idea why this bothers me.
When I pop in one of those Apatow flicks, I stare in amazement at perfect delivery and hilariously laid back mannerisms of this dude. I can totally see why a girl would like the dude. And if it had to be someone she'd cheat on me with (which she truly wouldn't, hopefully), I'd rather it be a dude it'd be impossible for me to hate. I don't know why, I guess I just don't like the idea of bad blood, even though It's impossible to avoid.
But am I angry cause she looks at other dudes in that light? Nah, I don't think. All humans do. Am I angry cause I feel like I am less than him? Nah. I think my jealous is a result, not of her looking at other dudes, but her looking at the dude that I love to look at. :o

Haha! I just saw that tonight too, and I don't blame her! Samantha (Kim Cattrall) was looking mighty fine for being 51. Although I would say Charlotte's the cutest out of the bunch.

Haha. I don't think many of them are real attractive, but I thought Samantha was really funny, and I was surprised to learn her age. I enjoyed it a lot more than I thought I would. I mean, I'm into some pretty girly movies, but I'm not super on materialism, and the movie started out name brand dropping, so I misjudged. But, by the end, they all won me over! So much more to it.

Anyway, I have this theory that Seth Rogan has actually had a powerful effect on the way Western women view men now. He's not conventionally attractive or anything but he's lovable and funny, so the chub and the hair don't matter. More and more often now I am seeing girls go for Seth-Rogan-type guys and if I had a girlfriend who found Seth sexy, I wouldn't have a problem.
What I do have a problem with though is the fact that what I call the 'Seth Rogan effect' seems to be driving girls insane, they are going for blokes who look like Seth Rogan and act 'jokey' but are nowhere near as funny or as cool.
Maybe there is no 'Seth Rogan effect' though and I'm just a jealous fool...anyone else agree with me on the above?

Sorry, Benj. I can only tell you that I have been in love three times in my life and the first two ended extremely well - I was an usher at my first serious girlfriend's wedding - I was at the cinema last night with my second serious girlfriend - and I'm marrying the third.
Hopefully you are discovering that the last one is the keeper. The second last one is practice for making you appreciate the one you will spend the rest of your life with.
I don't know what age you are - most of you - but it took me 50+ relationships to learn what mistakes not to make.

The problem is its not neccessarily the right attitude to have, in fact its an attitude that can be downright hurtful (think about it, rapists pretty much think this...not that I am saying you are one at all just trying to make my point clear).
Like what Kaufman said about being 'the sour', its just a pretty insecure and careless way to respond to rejection (a 'manly' way nonetheless I suppose).
Think about it, we wouldn't want some guy to talk to our wives or daughters (if we have one) with the sole intention of 'trying to fuck her', but for all other women in the world, most of us seem to think it's OK (same with rapists;)).
I actually partially agree with you now that you mention your personal life. If you don't want to stick to one woman, its probably best to play around a little (this is assuming you don't know how to masterbate) rather than lead some poor chick into thinking you actually like her when you're just after the sex-on-tap a relationship provides.
Whether its a full-on fuck or a simple glance at some cleavage and legs, we've all objectified women before, but it shouldn't really be your mission to objectify them, seeing as they are actually people and all.
However, I'm thinking this arguement may be pointless, seeing as nowadays guys are exposed to all sorts of extreme porn before their balls have even dropped and the objectification of women has been the way to go for a few centuries now - a lot of men just concentrate on fucking...its very understandable.

She could be in love with Edward Cullen - that douchebag vampire from the Twilight novels (and no I didn't mean Robert Pattinson, they seem to love the character, not so much the actor).
Rogen is actually a cool dude. At least he has a personality and he's funny and isn't say some vapid, dull pretty boy - or vampire :P So hey, on the bright side at least you know she digs funny guys.
