When i first saw the teaser i thought it looked liked a mediocre bond rip off with some talented leads. After this trailer

and the trailer attatched to Indiana Jones, I'm officially fucking impressed!
This looks hilarious and it looks like it has more (and dare i say better) action than some of the most intense action films coming out.
Can't wait. Seriously. Never thought i would say it.

I am, i've neer seenthe old show but but this flick looks like a solid comedy. You got Carell being a moronic character which he excels at, you got Hathaway who is looking amazing in the role and should deliver a good female supporting and i love seeing Johnson in comedic roles.
Definately looking forward to this flick

I have a feeling the final result will Suck Hard, but I think Carell is a comedic genius and will see this on the 20th. Anything to not put coins in the coffer of Mike Myers.

hahahaha, its based off the TV series which was a Bond spoof to begin with.

I was a fan of the old TV show. It was awesome. I'm also a fan of Steve Carell.
Thing is, I also happen to be a fan of both The Pink Panther and Steve Martin.
THAT film had some pretty good trailers, too.
Yeah.
So no, I refuse to get my hopes up about this movie. There's a very big chance, even with good comedians behind the script, that it will suck. The kind of comedy that was being done at the time when stuff like Pink Panther and Get Smart was popular, just has a different sensibility compared to what's popular now. You can't force new sensibilities into these concepts and expect something good, even IF you have talent to back it up. It just won't happen.
My fingers are crossed, but my expectations are low.
I refuse to be disappointed again.

I still think Anne Hathaway is too young for Agent 99 plus this movie's version of 99 seems different than the tv show's which is kind of disappointing to me. But Carell is undeniably an inspired choice for Maxwell Smart and the movie does indeed look hilarious.
Hopefully, this will do the show proud. Looks great and I can't wait.

I'm with AP on this one. Started out looking mediocre, but the more I saw of it, the more I seemed to enjoy what snippets of comedy it provided.
The cast certainly seems well rounded and talented at that. I'm still a tad cautious, but I'm definitely planning to see it now.

looks like one of the pure hilarity comedies of the summer. I love how it just seems so slapstick and over the top.

Looks funny. :D Plus it's got The Rock, and that's always a good thing in my book.

I don't know how much Don Adams he's putting in there, but his voice as Smart is so great - maybe it's the delivery and timing, not the tone as much.
I'll check this one out, but don't expect too much except a fun time.

It doesn't look very promising at all, the trailer had nearly no funny spots at all. I must say though, Anne Hathaway has never looked hotter.

I'll definitely see it. Loved the show.
The last trailer was quite funny. Looks a hell of a lot better than any Pink Panther or other bumbling-authority type of movie.

Used to watch the show on Nick at Night when I was a kid, shoe phone ftw, and everytime I see the trailers for this I get even more excited.

Looks good, but I agree I'm cautious.
I've seen too many comedies and the best parts were in the trailers!!
I hate that.

This and The Love Guru... Funniest Line
Siegfried: How do I know you're not from CONTROL?
Maxwell Smart: If I were from CONTROL, you'd already be dead.
Siegfried: If you were from CONTROL, YOU'D already be dead.
Maxwell Smart: Neither of us is dead, so I'm obviously not from CONTROL.
[long pause]
Shtarker: That actually makes sense.

I love that line not only because it was funny as hell but also because the show had stuff like that all the time. I could see that coming from the show.

All the TV spots have really turned me off this. The slapstick looks really tired and the other jokes are just duds, especially the swordfish one.
Don't get me wrong, I'll still see it. I'm just lowering my expectations.

I wasn't sure about this one until I saw the trailer that was attached to Leatherheads (I missed the one attached to Indy). That convinced me this would be worth seeing. Having Alan Arkin in it is a further plus. Additionally, one of my favorite movie critics, Peter Travers, is really looking forward to it, and if he likes it, there's a strong chance I will too.
SPOILER ALERT
I'm not sure which agent he plays, but Bill Murray is supposed to have a cameo.

I think it looks really funny.
"Did you see anything?"
"Yes, but I don't think you expected him to lift you so high."
Hilarious. This looks so much better than all the other Summer comedies. Step Brothers looks pretty good. Love Guru looks painful.

Steve Carrel as Uncle Arthur was the best part of Bewitched. Steve Carrel=Awesome. Anne Hathaway=Awesome.
Okay? Okay.

My favorite part in each trailer has been when Smart swings into the side of the van, on the airplane banner, and the banner reads "Suicide Hotline":D
