I hate to do the whole anticipation rating scale thing but... this is my second most anticipated movie behind The Dark Knight; not only as a huge fan of the series but The X-Files has always been a quality franchise so it's easy to expect an all around great film.

I am pretty excited to see this. I watched the X-Files every sunday on fox when I was a kid, until the later seasons when it got dicked around and I lost interest when Mulder left. I remember having the epic lineup of Seaquest, Earth 2, and The X Files.. wow, I was a dorky fucking kid. I loved it though.

I'm really happy to see them all back again. In a way, I'm thanking Lethal Weapon 4 for this. I feel like it was them who started the whole "It's never too late for a sequel" theme that exploded with movies like bad boys 2, die hard 4, Indy 4 etc.


You know what I'm crazy about saying? I don't mind seeing Xzibit in a movie.. let alone a movie where he has absolutely no place being. I could understand an action movie, or a cop drama, or even a shitty slasher film. But an X files movie? I was pretty pissed off to find out he'd be hanging out with Mulder and Scully searching for the truth. Clearly he has minimal lines, but he sold them for me in the trailer. He looks like he won't suck, and won't be anything great.. but just be there for a supporting role.

When does this come out? I love the first film and want to go into this without seeing any footage or pictures. So far haven't seen shit. I love the poster, can't wait to see what happens with this.

You know though, even if you did watch the trailers, I don't think you're spoiling anything. The trailers show almost nothing... they just make walking in snow, digging in snow, and a bunch of general dialogue look and sound really intense. Which is cool because I have no idea what this movie is about. I don't even think it's about werewolves (while some think it is)... I hope we get hit with some plot that's out of left field.

Well, with the fact that it's an X FILES movie, written and directed by the man himself, and it's their last hoorah, I'd say that the chances we get hit with a plot like that are very high my friend!!! :eek::D

Huh. I'm vaguely disappointed by that. It didn't do anything for me. I loved the first movie, but this looks pretty small scale.

As for this movie being small scale, yeah, it definitely looks that way, but that pleases me. They are going the monster-of-the-week route with this one, making it a horror film, and for me, horror films work on a smaller scale.

Also, Carter has said that if this film does well they will do at least one more, which will probably wrap up the alien mythology.

It comes out July 25. That's "The Dark Knight"s second weekend, so I'm a little worried that it will get overlooked.
