Yeah, I think it was in 1923.
I've never seen a High School music, nor have I heard any of the music from it. So I guess this one won't really matter either.

I haven't seen any of the High School Musicals, so I don't care how many they make. The more they make, the more I won't see.

And I am still trying to understand why a kid/tween aimed movie bothers you? Ignore that shit.

As long as it doesn't steal up box office income from a good movie, I couldn't care less.

As i grow older I sometimes feel the anger that Hollywood only targets certain demographics. I read a really good article in entertainment weekly about this a recently that despise how well the Devil Wears Prada did and and how shocked that a movie geared towards females could do so well during the summer they are once more shocked that Sex and the City did so well. Or the fact that few movies are made and produced for older audiences. The major demographic they are always trying to win is the tween and teenager graphic.
Its like Hollywood has forgotten that as a 31 year one year old well off middle class working schmoe I have a lot more money to spend then some 14 year old does. They should be trying to win me as an audience as I on any given month can and will spend several hundred dollars on entertainment and movies. Yet movies targeted for me are far and few between. I want movies like Shawshank Redemption, Saving Private Ryan, American Beauty and Memento movies that are well made, well acted, deep and thought provoking. Sure I like the comic book movie as much as the next guy and am dieing to see the Dark Knight but give me choice as well.
Make High School Musical 3, but also makes movies for me as well.

On the weekend, millions of people will have to chose from the new offerings at the movie theater:
High School Musical 3.....
or
Saw 5........
I'd rather watch myself watching Norbit.

this shit and American Idol turned pop music into shit.
I think people spending their money on pop music instead of illegally downloading it did a fair share of turning it into "shit." You keep consuming, they keep manufacturing.
Illegally download.

Oh jeeze, that's kind of a double edged sword for me, cause I want them to stop making sequels to both series.

see I don't get the hate, yes it bothers me that they make so many crappy movies geared towards the tween crowd and then are stunned and amazed when movies geared for other demographics do so well. But my solution is I just don't watch those movies. I have yet to see a High School Musical, the last Saw I watched was Saw II, I skipped out on Meet the Spartans and Superhero movie.
Thats all I can do I don't watch them and I don't worry about them.

Kind of interesting that it's heading for a theatrical release. Working completely backwards as far as Disney sequels go. But then again I guess nobody figured what a huge (I hesitate to say) phenomenon the HSM flicks would be...so it only makes sense. Either way, you won't see me in line. I have't seen the first 2, and these kind of movies have very intricate plotlines and I just wouldn't want to be lost.

Why make more of something that will appeal to the 12-17 age group when you can make something that could appeal to 18-40+...

Good points, but as much money as you might spend on the movies, that still doesn't match how much a parent can be willing to spend on their kid's trip to the movie plus all sorts of merchandise tie-ins. High School musical has the movie, the soundtrack, posters, magazine tie-ins, backpacks... um... lunchboxes (I guess... do kids even have lunchboxes anymore?).
You just don't get the same potential for revenue as with the movies you mentioned above. And cash still rules everything around us. Always has, and will for the forseeable future.

They do... re-releasing a beloved movie every other year in a "special edition box set" for 50 bucks. That's how they get us older folk.

Weekend tickets all cost the same at my local AMC 16, so...since EVERY kid, their parents, their friends, their dolls, their dogs, etc. will buy their tickets three times, get three versions of the film, the soundtrack (hell everyone, regardless of age was buying that shit...)...
I don't even have a purchased copy of my favorite films...

Wow, nice one Disney, the first 2 were tv movies, so now you'd like the parents to leave the comfort of their own home, being the children to a movie theater, and pay money to see the next one.
Whatever you can bank i guess!

Exactly. The thing that just pisses me off is that I just love how Disney is just totally taking advantage of the series and its viewers at this point and trying to get a bank on it.

There was some kind of Hannah Montana thing at my local theater when I went to see Vantage Point, it seemed like it was some kinda 3-D concert or something, but yeah...there was some Hannah Montana thing on the big screen.

Technically, yes, but that was just a 3D concert movie. The abomination dragula mentions comes out May 1st, 2009. If there is any decency in this world, Wolverine will slice that abomination in half.

How in the hell is finding out 2 terrible movies by the Disney Channel paying attention to it to much? But the 3D concert is kind of a movie but kind of a rip off also. They stole the movie idea from U23D (which was amazing) so I guess there gonna make a movie about the crap show.
