These writers or executives or whoever comes up with these titles and stories need to get their source material correct... or start using some. Captain America was never the first Avenger, nor the second or even the third. He's more like the sixth, trailing Iron Man, Thor, Wasp, Ant-man, and the Hulk. Just because he is the leader doesn't mean he's the first. They found him! He was the one encased in a block of ice. The original story is iconic and a classic so why would these writers stray from the source material. If Marvel is indeed in control of their movies then they should just do it right.

Wrong forum dude. This goes either in the upcoming movies area, but actually this sounds like a rant so you might want to put it there instead.

He's the first because he was born first.
Its not rocket science.

For the nerds among us, Cap was retroactively made a founding member by the team.

Creative license is often employed for the sake of a better, more cohesive film. For example, Jarvis was always Tony Starke's butler, not his computer AI, but for the purposes of the movie, Starke already had Paltrow's character, who also doubled as a love interest, erego there was no need for a human manservant.
