With the recent leak of Deerhunter's upcoming "Microcastle", does anyone possess any opinions on this guy's work up to now? Has anyone heard "Microcastle". Various reports (for what they're worth) lead you to believe Bradford lived up to the micro portion of the title--that is, instead of some of the winding instrumentals present on "Cryptograms", shorter pieces more in line with the "Fluorescent Grey" EP.
Really, I do not know how the guy can top "Cryptograms". The mental state that is captured on that album is simply staggering and very much in the same vein as the beauty/ugly relationship present in almost all Lynch. It's pretty much the sound of manic depression...the frantic moodswings punctuated by moments of uncontrollable beauty, I absolutely love that album.
Atlas Sound is ace as well.
A release date hasn't been set for "Microcastle" yet (as far as I know) but their Myspace (http://www.myspace.com/deerhunter) is streaming two tracks and has the artwork (I assume).
