Anybody listened to this? Or a fan of The Offpsring at all?
Obviously its not going to be Smash or Ixnay, but from I've heard so far its not too bad. Its a much less punk and more polished album but they kind of sound more like a Linkin Park now.

Smash is the only album of theirs that I liked.
Haven't been a fan of any of their other stuff.
I like saying the same thing in two different ways.

Former good band. I guess I just gave up on them after the last couple of albums. I will definitely listen to it because I have always hoped that they would return to their former grace. They are great live!

I guess I can skip this one, then.

I love Ignition, Smash and Ixnay. The rest I'll just pretend doesn't exist.

Is this out now? I can't wait for it... I've been a long-time Offspring fan, and love all of their albums (their self-titled debut notwithstanding). Splinter was awesome, and I really enjoyed their single "Hammer-head" being played on the radio. I'll definitely haveta pick this up.

First 4-5 tracks sound good and reminiscent of Ixnay/Americana era Offspring, but then it delves into Sum 41/Good Charlotte-ish category.
Not awful....but deifnitely not good.

I love Americana but the rest of their albums are pretty damn shit. I might give this a listen but I'm not expecting much.

I'm about half-way through listening to the album right now.... DAMNED good album! Some different sounding songs from them, like "Kristy, Are You Doing Okay?" and "A Lot Like Me" which I'm really into... All the songs have been great so far, I think I'm gonna love it. :)

After listening to the rest of this album, I've gotta say it's probably my 2nd favourite disc put out by the Offspring. All songs on this album are definitely very good, with my ONLY complaint being on their final track "Rise and Fall", as it sounds like a very blatant rip-off of the Green Day single "American Idiot". Also some reviewers over at Amazon were relating some of the Offsprings slower new songs to Green Day ballads like "Boulevard of Broken Dreams" and "Wake Me Up When September Ends", which I couldn't disagree more with.
Definitely a much more mature sound for Dexter and the guys, but a fantastic album start to finish. Which is very nice/refreshing, given the last new album I bought (Indestructible from Disturbed) was almost completely disappointing. There's some much slower songs, a different sound on some, but also maintains their classis "Offspring sound" too. Standout tracks for me would include:
-Trust In You
-Hammerhead
-A Lot Like Me
-Kristy, Are You Doing Okay?
-Stuff is Messed Up
-Fix You
I've got all the Offspring's albums, except their very first debut/self-titled one, cuz it pretty much sucked, and I'm not including their "Greatest Hits" album in this listing, it'd would go like this:
1. Americana
2. Rise & Fall, Rage & Grace
3. Ixnay on the Hombre
4. Splinter
5. Conspiracy of One
6. Smash
7. Ignition
If you're a fan of the 'Spring, you should definitely enjoy this newest effort, definitely not disappointing! :)

I just bought it on iTunes. Having not heard any of their new stuff, I was pleasantly surprised when I heard it for the first time. Usually it takes me a few plays before it catches on, but this is classic Offspring. I really enjoyed Stuffed is Messed Up, Nothingtown, A Lot Like Me and Kristy, Are You Doing Okay?.

Im actually digging this sort of newish sound. Some of the tracks are skippable, but they've managed to keep some of that hardcore punk sound in there too
