Sorry for restarting a new Public Enemies thread. Was searching for the previous one, but seems as if it just died out and went away. Hope this one will stick around longer!

Saw these photos and it's got me super excited for next year! Been waiting for Michael Mann's next project for quite some time now! Glad it's in the form of a project starring Depp and Bale! Wish I could find some photos of Bale and Depp together on set. No luck.

I can't think of another period piece that was done digitally. I don't know how i feel about that.

As much as I have mixed feelings regarding shooting on digital, all is forgiven when it comes to Michael Mann. I'm sure he will make us more involved with the film rather than the format of the technology he is using. That's all that matters to me!

I said it in the old thread, Depp + Bale + Mann = Awesomeness. And not the awesomeness that also equals when you put Farell and Mann together, this is on a whole 'nother level.

I'm interested to see how Channing Tatum does in a movie such as this. I think there is possibility there for him being a legit actor.

I thought Channing was pretty damn good in A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints. The supporting cast is amazing, Crudup plays J. Edgar Hoover :D

I'm hoping that Mann does a shootout scene that is close, if not similiar to the shoot out in Heat and Miami Vice. No one has bested him in setting up the perfect shoot out scene thus far in my opinion. Since this is a period piece, I wonder how he'll pull that off. But, I won't put my hopes too high up.

Oh, you KNOW he will man! I'm pumped to see Depp going crazy with a tommy gun....hot damn I can't wait for this. When is it expected in theaters?

To not have a grand shootout scene in a gangster period piece would be a wasted opportunity. Mann definitely would not pass this opportunity so I'm positive he has already cooked something up.

It's looking to be one of my favorite movies even though I haven't seen it too. But, I can definitely say it's my most anticipated movie for 2009 for sure!

I don't think shooting it digital is necessarily a bad thing if Mann can use it to give the film a surreal, "feels like you're there" feeling. But the combination of him and the two known cast members is exciting enough.
