I understand it's pretty rare, but as most things OOP, it's worthless until someone pays you the money you're asking for it. Not worth anything sitting on a shelf! :)

P.S. Maybe worth a little less as it's opened?

I have this.

It's a tin case from Blockbuster Video, their exclusive for the movie - five per store. Here's mine (http://img123.imageshack.us/my.php?image=potc2blockbustertin2wg9.jpg) (with Circuit City's exclusive disc).

There were various exclusives for that feature, I managed to talk them into selling the tin for five bucks on release day. Otherwise they wanted me to buy the movie for the case (which was over priced IMO).

Blockbuster also had a tin for "Cars", I have one; slightly dented.

But a hundred bucks for it? Again over priced.

Probably not much as there are a million editions of The Evil Dead on DVD...

I see what you mean, the movie (on DVD) itself isn't rare, but at the same time there probably some specific editions that are fewer in number than others and therefore are in a sense rare.

How rare is the Elite Entertainment Edition of "The Evil Dead"? Which edition of The Evil Dead is the rarist?

There were two Elite Evil Dead releases if you happen to have the one with a transparent Amaray case then that is rare.

As far as the rarest - Its gotta be Evil Dead Blockbuster Video Exclusive

Because xage's DVD prowess is omnipresent and just by typing "Evil Dead DVD" on google I got one of his images, I bring this forth:

Is that DVD in the lower, left-hand corner rare at all? It's the one I have and damn, I'm proud of it! Just curious.

I own the blue Ultimate Edition, the Book of the Dead Edition, and too the one in the lower left-hand corner.

Of all the many editions, which are FS and have the absolute best picture quality? Which one(s) have the best Special Features?

As far as the rarest, its got to be Evil Dead Blockbuster Exclusive.

But in the market, the "in-demand" version is the Anchorbay DVD Lunchbox giftset that goes around $200 as of present.

Who cares if you're building a collection of useless snarky comments, anyway.

ebay removes their auction links that fast now-a-days. I saw it around November last year.

Not if your an incureable collector. Some who collect this or that go all out. They tend to aquire anything and everything this or that. Some have absolutely HHHHHHUGE collections of just one thing, like Lionel brand toy trains for example.

You must be a newbie if you don't know about xage's collection. I find your lack of respect for other members annoying and utterly distasteful. You obviously have no concept of collecting, or you would know there are countless ways and reasons for the way people collect. So what if someone has 20 different copies of the same movie. At least xage is someone that is quick to help out fellow collectors with questions about movies he owns, or movies he is knowledgable about. I have yet to see one of your posts be informative, helpful, or even intelligent. I wish they would have a vote for banning your sorry ass, because I'd bet money that you would be voted out in a heartbeat. Hell, I would probably pay money to ban you, and that would definately not be a waste of money.

Thats basically it!

But take note, I got a confirmation from Anchorbay the print run for the French Canadian packaging is far less compare to the standard R1 packaging because its marketed in select provinces of Canada.

Interesting question.. There is basically a degree of rarity among the 5 Thin (Super Jewel) Evil Dead DVDs.

All 5.. carries its own distinct Spine Letter. After the spine number DV10667- which interestingly spells:

D-E-V-I-L

Spine View

Cover Art View
http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b221/xage00/CASING_b.jpg

D = The rarest and most difficult among the 5 releases
E = The Most Common among the 5 releases
V, I, L = A little bit hard to get as it has lesser quantity compare to E

****Warning-If you are going to buy from ebay, dont be fooled by the stock picture! Make sure to ask the seller first if the art is the same as the stock photo and ask for the spine number as a reference.
