Went and saw Hancock tonight, decent little flick. Before the movie, the first preview to kick things off was........

DISASTER MOVIE

I immediately gagged and vomited, or, gavomited, and between my gavomiting I heard it:

People around me laughing.

"Iron Man" getting randomly crushed by a cow? HAHAHAHAHA
"Enchanted" woman getting hit by a car? HAHAHAHAHA
Men dressed like the women of Sex in the City? HAHAHAHAHA
"Hancock" getting knocked out by a lightpole? HAHAHAHAHAHA
"Juno" and her baby going all Zohan on the Sarah Jessica Parker look-a-like? HAHAHAHA

These fucking people, these brainless mongoloids sitting all around me, laughed at every fucking thing in the trailer. EVERYTHING.

HOW IS ANY OF IT FUNNY? WHAT THE FUCK IS FUNNY ABOUT SOMEONE DRESSED LIKE IRON MAN GETTING CRUSHED BY A COW RANDOMLY FALLING FROM THE SKY? COWS DONT FALL FROM THE SKY AT RANDOM! IT MAKES NO SENSE, THE JOKE HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH ANYTHING! AND YOU FUCKERS ARE LAUGHING?!?!?!

People like the people I was with tonight are why shit like this keeps getting made. Over and over and over and over. Disaster Movie will open at #1 and I will be weeping into my hands because I can officially no longer trust the human race. That's it, I'm done. I give up. Seltzer and Friedberg, you got me. I'm waving my white flag. I quit. I quit.

That trailer certainly is quite a compelling reason.

If it does well at the box office, that can only mean we are inching closer and closer to a film like "Ass," from Idiocracy.

Sooner than one would think too.

It's hilarious because it's so random. It takes talent to come up with such random stuff. I'll be there opening day. *thumbs up*!

You should've run around and bitched slapped everyone in the face. The sad thing is I showed my brother this and he laughed, I punched him in the arm for being so stupid.

It's sad that there are so many stupid people in today's society.

So you're suggesting to be late for Hancock.

Gotcha. Will do. I mean unless there's like a trailer for Darabont's version of Indiana Jones I should probably catch? Yeah, I'll be late. Thanks for the heads up.

There was the new trailer for 007 though. That made things a little better.

Does anyone else think this new on NBC called "Wipeout" is pretty close to being "Ow My Balls!" from Idiocracy?

I think that new show on NBC is a total rip off of Most Extreme Elimination which in turn is just a funny dubbed version of the Japanese game show Takeshi's Castle.

This little tirade reminds me of when I went and saw Wanted. One of the trailers before the flick was Meet Dave and people were cracking up at this movie. Now I know some people have a different sense of humour to others and all, but seriously, fuck off.

Actually, Wipeout is an ABC show.

Wipeout just doesn't get it. You need the raunchy sexual innuendo of MXC to actually make it a well rounded show.

Iron Man. His suit is made of 'Iron' but gets crushed by a falling cow. Get it??? Yeah fucking funny isn't it.

The best is where Hulk loses his shorts, like that hasn't been done.

One thing I've wondered is whether or not this could be attributed to being a group thing. I noticed when they started showing commercials before movies people would laugh. Not just a couple or people but quite a few. Now these are not new commercials, but rather ones that have been out for a while and weren't all that funny to begin with.

It'd be interesting to see if those individuals who laughed at that trailer while in the theater surrounded by other people would have reacted the same if they had been home alone watching it on tv.

All that stuff you listed from Disaster Movie does sound quite stupid but the idea of a cow falling on Iron Man does kinda bring a smile to my face I dont know why.

Yeah, but the timing is off, the special effects are poor and they'll probably put it over last week's No. 1 hip hop single. When they're debauching cinema, they're at least nice enough to give you absolutely no reason to laugh.

I think there's some glee in writing these rants.

People fucking piss me off too. So often I feel the same way as Jackson13. I have to remind myself though that I don't know what makes these people tick. I don't know who any of these people are.

I think if you could secretly arrange a movie viewing with just JoBlo subscribers the next day would be a thread and everyone would be bitching about the crowd.

I posted a thread in the main forum about this, I think I saw the trailer before the Incredible Hulk and then again in front of Hancock.

Ok people laughed both times and that really bothered me too but not for the same reasons it bothered you.

My big thing is half of the movies they were spoofing hadn't been out long enough for them to see anything but the trailers for it. Sex and the City, the Incredible Hulk, Hancock (not even released before this piece of shit had a trailer spoofing it), You Don't Mess with the Zohan and even Iron man. When the fuck did we start doing spoof movies off of fucking trailers, when the fuck did we get so lazy we can't even bother to see the whole fucking movies they are spoofing and not just the trailers.

And its fucking called Disaster Movie and they don't seem to be spoofing a single fucking disaster movie. No Abyss, no Day After tomorrow, no the Core, no Armageddon, no Poseidon, no Titanic, nothing to do with any single disaster movie released in the last twenty years unless Iron Man was in Twister and I just fucking missed it.

Maybe by only watching the trailers of films that they are spoofing they didn't realize those movies weren't disaster movies or maybe they think its funny they made a movie that is a clear disaster and dumb fuck heads will see it.

I don't get why people laugh at "Object A" getting hit by "Object B" anymore. That is literally the premise for every single joke in every single trailer for these types of movies.

"Oh hey look honey - that's that girl from Enchanted! OHH DAMN! She just got hit by a car!"

Hulk losing his shorts?! That's literally one of the sources of humor that the actual Hulk movies/comics have used for laughs! That's not even parody!

call me dumb , but i still find some of these types of films funny . i'll explain why though , i admit they are low brow , idiotic , cliched , and redundant , but i still get a little out of people taking the piss out of popular films . some people take their favorite films so seriously they feel they are above spoofing .

i don't think any film is untouchable , so i love when someone makes fun of the blockbusters . it's mindless entertainment , it's just a goofy good time . they already have my attention , they make fun of two films i never want to see and whose hype i could not stand , Juno and S and the C . for me , it's a thrill watching someone poke fun at the pretentiousness . i'm a sucker for sight gags .

before you go bonkers , i still haven't seen MTS , Date Movie , or Epic Movie , but this one has me interested because of who and what they are spoofing . so i'm not actually contributing to the totals for these films and i'll most likely wait for dvd to see this latest one , but it does look funny .

I'm with Dellamorte. I'm easy to amuse with some of these parodies, who finds some of this ridiculous "humour" actually funny in some instances. Date Movie was fucking hilarious IMO. I believe I saw Epic Movie too, and it was one of those "SO bad it was amusingly funny" types. So I laughed at that fucker too. I enjoyed all of the "Scary Movies" as well. I've not seen "Superhero Movie", and I'll probably not see this one either.

But maybe I should, since I enjoyed the others. I agree nearly all of the above movies sucked balls, and were retarded. I also agree that the majority of the "humans" (do they even really deserved to be called that, sometimes?) are fucking brain-dead, idiotic fucking assholes as well. I can't stand other people, or when they laugh at shit that really ISN'T funny (white chicks, the pacifier, drama movies).

But it's OK for ME to laugh at this fucking retarded shit! I guess it's the PARODY movies I enjoy, and that's really it. The rest of these so-called "comedies" are ANYTHING but fucking funny to me.

Don't ask me why , but seeing Ironman get squished by a cow is so random and idiotic , and utterly senseless , it's actually funny . Maybe because it gives me Earthworm Jim flashbacks ;) . These films work when i either liked the films they are spoofing or i hated them or a combo of the two . They are like " expensive " Yt " videos . I admit though , these types of films are scatter shot , some of the jokes work , some die on the vine , so you have to sit through some muck to find the entertainment .

But they aren't good parodies! I appreciate making fun of stuff that is popular if it is cleverly done, but just throwing shit at recognizeable characters and having them get hit in the head or crushed by it is just not comedy. It doesn't take thought...it's not creative...it's not clever...it's not funny.

I'm with trail blazer. The reason these ypes of movies piss me off is that there is hardly any spoofing of actual disaster movies. in thisa trailer, an asteroid hit earth, then were hit with a barrage of summer movie clips (some that didn't even come out yet). I love random humor as much as anyone, but this shit is just stupid.

However, seeing Epic movie spoof, i gotta say the "Click" spoof was pretty damn funny.

Perhaps the title refers, as you said, to the movie itself. I doubt Seltzer and Frieberg have enough decency to be so truthful, but maybe someone at their studio was. It is odd, though. The poster suggests a spoof of The Day After Tomorrow, and possibly An Inconvenient Truth, but apparently that is nowhere to be found.

Cyclichightmare: I think jackson meant to say "I'm washing my hands of you, fellow humans", a sentiment I unabashedly support and have, to a certain degree, already carried out.

I fully agree , these scripts , if they even bother to write them for these movies , can be written on one standard sized napkin and little to no thought goes into the process , that's why i find it amusing , it's totally mindless . This isn't pretending to be high art , it's all about silly sight gags , and ever since i saw the very first 3 stooges episode , i've been a fan of sight gags . I'm not looking for elaborate set ups or witty one liners , i just want to see the piss taken out of popular films .
