I have not seen one single trailer for this movie and have only seen 1 or 2 commercials for it.

Basically I have no opinion or expectations for this movie whatsoever since I really haven't seen anything or heard anything about it.

I love animated movies, but this looks like utter crap. Nevermind my revulsion of chimps/apes/primates in general, the animation is nothing stellar and if the clips in the trailer are any indication, the movie just isn't going to be funny.

Big pass on this one.

as nazgul said, this will either be suprisingly funny, or downright terrible.

i bet on the latter.

This is going to kill Dark Knight's box office. Poor Nolan & company, why did they choose to open against this juggernaut?

Knowing how awesome Kung Fu Panda was, this has a chance to bomb epically.

Dreamworks Animation studios seem to do hit, miss, hit, miss, HUGE hit, miss.

Actually, Space Chimps isn't done by DreamWorks. It was made by Vanguard, Fox's lower-tier animation studio (if you consider Blue Sky to be high-tier). Vanguard also brought us VALIANT and HAPPILY N'EVER AFTER. That said, it DOES bear a resemblance to DWA's lesser efforts.

I'm a little surprised to hear that, because here in Ohio, I've been seeing commercials non-stop since WALL-E came out.

The most surprising thing this weekend was not TDK breaking records, was not Mamma Mia! matching Hairspray, but Space Chimps receiving a 44% top critic rating on RT. Maybe it's not as bad as we thought. :D

Do not let the 44% RT rating fool you. It's downright terrible. Samberg's voice work is so lame, my girlfriend asked if it was Ashton Kutcher.

Saw the movie. It felt like at times that the screenplay was written by a six year old. Having said that it wasn't bad. It wasn't good either but it wasn't painful to sit through and I don't regret seeing it. Very meh.

5/10

AMAZING!!

I loved this movie. It was sad though because I think me and Nicole were laughing harder then any 7 year old that was in that theatre. So there was some level of stupidity with this movie.

I don't think the kids in the theatre would get the David Bowie or Macerena refrences.

Nor would they laugh at the fact that Killowatt this weird light bulb thing sounded like little richard when it ran.

I'd give it a 7.5/ 10

Now "shit" has a new meaning for me. I saw it a week ago and it's one of the worst animation movies I've ever seen. Unfuny jokes, a leading character that i would kill with my own hands if I could (the popular guy, here in Spain we know this kind of people with the name of CHULOPOLLAS), and a tit-headed alien running like he was with hemorroids firing his ass.
