I can shut my mind off and watch a stupid comedy as easily as the next guy, but I hated Artie Lange's Beer League.

This comedy struck me as the kind of thing alot of High School dropout townies would find entertaining, as it encompasses everything they think is cool; boobs, beer, low brow humor, and a plot line that is about as realistic as Tiny Toon Adventures.

I don't understand how Artie Lange has a following, or how anybody could watch this movie and find something remotely redeeming about it. To me, this was a waste of time, and since I rented it, money.

My Rating : 6/10

Thoughts?

Artie Lange is a god and this movie was hilarious!

Long live Artie, Howard, Robin, Fred, Gary, Sal, Richard, Bengy, Tim, Scott and the rest of the Howard Stern Show. :D

Seriously?

I don't want to come off as confrontational, but what about this movie was hilarious?

6/10 for a movie with nothing "remotely redeeming about it"?
i'd hate to see a movie that you've given a 1 or 2.

LOL ... I've been told that before. I'm MUCH more lenient with my ratings than most others. Don't really know why, I simply always have been ...

Have not listened to Howard since the switch to Sirius (I have XM). Artie Lange is a wanne be John Belushi, no talent hack. I miss Jackie.

It was ok, I thought every single thing the old man said was hilrious, though.

Beerfest > Beer League

Truth.

I give Beer League a 5/10. It has some funny moments but overall it's just damn boring.

I love Beer League. Hillarious indeed. You just have to be up for Artie's raunchy sense of humor. Remember, humor is a very subjective thing. One person might find a particular something hillarious, while another might just stare at it stonefaced. I love Artie, the loveable dirtbag, so by osmosis, I loved Beer League. Plus Larry David's dad from Curb was fucking hillarious!

I JUST LOVE JERSEY MOVIES! I guess you kinda GET IT more when you're from that type of Jersey world. Don't get me wrong I'm not saying if you're not from New Jersey you won't get it, I just think we enjoy it more. Like I enjoy Kev's movies because I've been to all the places in his films and I get all the "In Jersey" jokes but not just Kev's movies but Garden State and Harold And Kumar Go To White Castle. Here's a little cool tidbit in case ya didn't know... but some of the biggest horror movie icons are or have something to do with New Jersey. Camp Crystal Lake is in New Jersey, if you watch the 1st Friday The 13th movie the license plates in the film are New Jersey plates and there is an actual Crystal Lake camp site in NJ. Chucky mentions the fact that he's from Jersey in The Bride Of Chucky and Haddonfield, IL is actually based on Haddonfield, NJ (Harry from When Harry Met Sally was from there also) because Debra Hill who wrote the script with John Carpenter was actually raised there, ( http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0384185/ ) and I also know this because there was an in depth documentary on AMC about Halloween a couple years ago.

Oh and how could I forget THE BEST SUPERHERO EVER!!!

The 1st superhero from New Jersey...http://www.crunchgear.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/12/poster-the-toxic-avenger-2.JPG
