I found the DVD real cheap in a bargain bin once. The DVD also had an interesting interview with Richard Matheson about his involvement.

I actually enjoy it a lot more than any of the other I am Legend adaptations.

I hear that the MGM Midnight At the Movies double release is excellent as far as the transfer. The second film in that is Panic in the Year Zero.

funny, so did i.
and like you, i like this version better than 'i am legend' or 'omega man'. nothing wrong with the other two, i enjoyed them as well. but personally, i thought 'the last man on earth' kicked some serious ass :D

The last man on earth is a great movie, far surpassing I Am Legend (and i love will smith). Thank god CGI didn't exist back then.

I agree. If it were not for the thoughtful and brilliant acting by Price, I dont think it would have made it to my collection though. This is the only classic apocalyptic type movie I have watched where gun play is not utilized in the main characters survival. Which would have been painfully evident had the main role been played by any other actor. Price pulled it off.
