In less positive procreation news, Amy Winehouse is scaring the bejeezus out of us by blabbing about her desire to pollute the gene pool with incarcerated husband Blake Fielder-Civil. "Blake and I can't wait to have kids. I want at least five kids. I want twins," the rickety, substance-susceptible singer yammers to the British edition of OK!. "Blake is gonna be the most amazing dad." (We assume she means once he gets out of the pokey, where he's currently serving a 27-month sentence on assault and obstruction-of-justice charges.) "To be honest, I think kids have got a lot more going on than adults," opines Winehouse, whose newly unveiled wax figure at Madame Tussauds looks far healthier and hygienic than she currently does. "They've got their heads screwed on a lot better."

I laughed when I saw this. I can't imagine Winehouse putting down the crack pipe and picking up a baby...but maybe getting pregnant would put her on the straight and narrow?

What makes her think she still can have kids at this point?

If she's planning it, then I'd hope she'd "get clean" or whatever the operative phrase is BEFORE a baby starts bakin' away.

Can we pass some sort of ruling to prevent this from actually happening?

this alone made me laugh. i find it funny how her logic of someone who assaults people and obstructs justice (i.e. fights back with cops to AVOID getting arrested because he fucked up) is going to be good dad. wow. i wonder how career day is gonna go for that little bundle of joy.

to quote her "i think kids..." blah blah blah bullshit, i think she's comparing what kids have nowadays to her. she has a crackpipe and 3 teeth. most kids have way more than that.

She's the last fucking person on the planet who should have a kid. Imagine her fucking retarded spawn (shudders)...-

she must be under the illusion that babies take care of the mothers , not the other way around .

a kid won't change her , if anything i think they just amplify what the person already is before they have them , and we know she's not exactly the most stable of women at this point in time . if she's looking for a baby to save her from her destructive ways , she's creating a dangerous situation for her and her potential child .

Ironic, seeing as how Winehouse is the world's only living stillbirth case.

I think the action of Amy Winehouse producing kids is an automatic case of child abuse.

CPS should be there in the delivery room, just to get it over with.

If anyone can't wait for Amy Winehouse to have kids, it's Britney Spears. Because she'll look like June Cleaver in comparison.

Enough with this "let's sterilize her" nonsense. She's incapable of giving birth to anything at this point.

Spokesman: Winehouse to ER for reaction to meds
July 28, 2008, 7:29 PM EST
LONDON (AP) -- Amy Winehouse was hospitalized Monday night for a reaction to medication but was expected to be released by morning, representatives for the Grammy-winning singer said.

An ambulance took Winehouse from her north London home to University College Hospital, spokesman Chris Goodman said.

"Doctors have advised that she will be kept under observation overnight and is likely to be released tomorrow," read a statement released by Goodman and Tracey Miller, the 24-year-old's U.S.-based publicist.

It was the second time in as many months that Winehouse has been in the hospital. She was admitted to a London clinic in June after collapsing at home, and father Mitch Winehouse said at the time she had developed early stage emphysema from smoking cigarettes and crack cocaine.

Winehouse underwent a series of tests but was discharged in time to perform at the Glastonbury music festival and celebrations for former South African president Nelson Mandela's 90th birthday.

The troubled soul diva became an international star after she released the Grammy-winning album "Back to Black" in 2006, but her music has been overshadowed by reports of drug use and run-ins with the law.

This year, she was investigated by police, although not charged, after a tabloid newspaper published a video that appeared to show her smoking crack cocaine.

In April 2008 she was cautioned by police for assault after she slapped a man on a night out.

Earlier this month, her husband Blake Fielder-Civil was sentenced to 27 months in jail for assault and obstructing justice. Fielder-Civil admitted beating up pub manager James King in a barroom fight in 2006 and then offering him $400,000 to keep quiet about it.

Winehouse has repeatedly regaled concert audiences with appeals for the release of "my Blake."

Jesus Christ! I definitely concur. That made the hair on the back of my arms stand up. Yeah I love how her father says it was an allergic reaction to "medication". I'm pretty sure crack is not a medication, it's an illegal narcotic substance. These two loons should work at Halloween Horror nights this year.

Gosh, I can envision the parent's nervous reaction to Winehouse calling their kid cute on the street. And her insistence to hold him and that "she's really good with children".

Anyone who says they are good with children tries too hard.

Of all people...why romanticize D.B. Cooper??!

I'm going out on a limb here and saying I feel sorry for her. Not that she's having a bad time or anything. On the contrary, she seems to be having a blast. It's just to hear someone in her position saying something like that with a straight face, you know just how lost they are. 45 days on an island in the Pacific would straighten her right out. In no time at all, she'd be risking her life to save her friends, and we'd all fucking cry and say "she would have been a good mom, but it was too late. Hey, I wonder what Jack, Kate and Sawyer are up to?"

You're not going out on a limb. That, really, should be the default reaction. It's a sad case, a sad story, and to that all we have are really bad crack jokes.

I don't think she's having as good of time as appears...you know when people go through patches of roughness indulgent patterns develop. They experience the ecstasy of no longer caring and the epiphany of realizing their behavior needs to change. I can see Winehouse recovering from a night out, or rather three nights out (one continuous day, see) and thinking that a baby will better things. Make her as happy as she seems in D.B.'s baby picture above. But yeah, I can see the sadness. It's like an ultimate version and my natural reaction is to deflate its actual state with bad humor. It's a human dilemma...ignore the truly terrible so as not to feel awkward. It's a fucking frustrating dilemma, I tell you.

I wish I could remember that Malkmus lyric...normal is weirder than you care to admit or some such.

Whatev -- Amy Winehouse makes me feel better about myself and I will contrast her cocaine addiction and destructive lifestyle with my lifestyle of sitting behind a computer and anticipating comic book movies. I will also make bad jokes at someone far far away's expense while declining to complete my community college paper. I will do this all and still have time to see "The Dark Knight" for the fifth time (also enough time to give it a 10 on imdb lol).

Well, because no Amy Winehouse thread would be complete without the obliquatory "I hope she dies" comment, I`ll do the honors:

"I hope she dies........before she is able to procreate".
