America's Hindu leaders are asking Mike Myers to personally apologise for his portrayal of a comical spiritual leader in movie flop The Love Guru.

They want the funnyman to publicly apologise for "lampooning Hinduism" in the film.

In a statement released to WENN on Monday, Hindu leader Rajan Zed said that although the apology may not completely undo the damage done to the community, it might help "heal the wounds somewhat of a disturbed Hindu populace".

Zed, the president of Universal Society of Hinduism, says, "Ksama, or forgiveness, is one of the main virtues of Hindu ethics. If Mike Myers offers a genuine public apology, Hindus would not only absolve him but might also pray for his success in future movies."

Zed launched a protest movement against The Love Guru in March, urging all Hindus and other religious groups to boycott the film.

He claims that the failure of the film is largely down to his protest campaign.

I don't think they have anything to worry about. No one liked the film, nor has anyone really seen it. And I don't think any amount of prayer can save the future of Myer's career.

Maybe if this succeeds we can ask Jason Friedberg & Aaron Seltzer for apologies for all the shit they've made over the years.

And then we can continue to pray that they don't make any more movies. :D

I thought Zed was Bob Cat from Police Academy 2?

F' em if they can't take a joke. Let alone a really bad one that was over 90 minutes long. Honestly, based in Canada, Hockey and black guy, who green lit this idea?

Oh yeah a joke that is offensive to their religion.

But, but.......

shouldn't they just nut up? I'm offended so often and I never ask for an apology. I can't think of one time I was offended and asked for an apology. I always thought it showed character to have thick skin.

We're talking about a movie, a hollywood movie staring Mike Myer that no one even watched.

Fuck all your religions. I say that with all due respect.

They probably asked for a percentage of the B.O. sales first... but obviously that didn't work out too well.

Myers should apologize to humanity.

I assumed before this movie debuted, Myers spoke with actual Hindu bigwigs and got their blessing. I guess not.
Poor Mike.

Austin Powers IV: The "Comeback" movie.
It can't hurt and if they do it right, it'll be hilarious.

What religion has not had offensive jokes shot at them? People need to stop taking everything so seriously and be able to take some criticism in the form of a bad joke.

We should agree to never make threads like these. And the media should agree never to report on these kind of things. Everyday some Religion is getting upset over nothing in particular and having a moan over it and demanding apologies or ya know going past that stage and straight to death sentences on peoples head stage.

If we just ignore it maybe just maybe they will go away.

Now that I think of it, Myers shoudl have shown the film and got the complaints before the movie came out. More peole might have seen it.
