I just watched him on The Daily Show where he proceeded to say kids should drop out of school, smoke weed and write a movie. . .only I don't think he was kidding. The dude is a great comedic actor and I love his stuff. I just hope whether he is joking or not, the wrong people don't hear this shit and start a storm over it.

I know it's what he did. He just seemed so serious about having other people do it, haha. I'd like to think he was just fucking around but you never know. It won't change my massive man crush on the dude. Who didn't love the episode of Freaks & Geeks when he finally liked a girl?

Shame he wasn't FUNNY, though...

I wish I was as unFUNNY as Seth Rogen.

To me, Seth Rogen is a likeable guy who might be a huge star, but not yet. Seth is funny, but not leading man funny. At least not yet. He can't do anymore movies based on him smoking weed or playing video games. He needs to move on to rise as a star. To me, Seth is where Vaughn, Ferrell and the rest of the Frat Pack were seven years ago, on the brink. Green Hornet might take him to the next level.

And hey, they all can't be golden.

i also saw the show... to me at least, it was so blatantly obvious he was being very tongue in cheek. Because that is what he did, he is saying it works.. obviously he knows that isnt the case for every person!

I took it as a joke, as I thought everyone would have.

Hell, if I did that and got rich and famous, I'd recommend it too.

There is so much more to it though then just smoking the weed and writing the script. Like getting representation and getting the script sold is only half the struggle.

So its gotta be a joke. Or at least he's only telling the small tidbits to the beginning of his life story.

I think he's been in some hilarious stuff and he's still got funnier stuff coming.
And I'm going to see Pineapple Express this weekend and I can't wait.
Didn't see the interview but his delivery seems to have a "realistic" feel to it.
You don't think he's kidding, but he actually is.
Gotta catch this interview.

..Seth was bs'ng..heres a hint - THE DAILY SHOW..when he sits down and says the same shit in a Barbara Walters interview then be concerned. ;)

There is nothing brilliant about Rogen or his movies. He shouldn't be joking around about things he knows full well not everyone is going to take as a joke.

Oh, okay. There goes 90% of all comedy.

We're not talking R rated movies here, that would be a different story. This is a popular television program that anyone can watch. He should have known better.

I have on occasion. I can't say that I'm a fan and make an effort to watch it on a regular basis. But I don't care where he said it at, it was distasteful and unfunny.

FACT:

40% of high-schoolers who watched this interview decided to drop out of high school. Reports of increased sales of pot and how-to-screenwriting books have emerged.

Seriously, distasteful? You really think Seth Rogen has THAT much influence over people's actions? They guy is in the business of comedy. Whether or not you find him funny doesn't matter, dude's not gonna be like "I really regret dropping out of high school"...he's gonna take his own life experiences and try and put a tounge-in-cheeck approach to it. Because, even if you find him not funny at all, there are MANY who do...so he's gonna appeal to them.

If he was like "yeah, i once robbed a russian hooker and forced her to perform obscene sexual acts"...then yeah...THAT'S disasteful.

I completely disagree. What he said was enormously distasteful. He's in a position now where young people look up to him, he shouldn't joke around about dropping out of school. If anything he should talk about how he should have stayed in school. He influences a lot of youth out there, he needs to be smarter about what he says.

I don't care for Seth Rogen, but he has a responsibility to no one and he won't influence anyone to drop out of school through his jokes.

The Daily Show's main demographic is definitely college students so they all already graduated high school. No worries there.;)

Havent watched the Daily Show in forever but I seem to recall it comes on the same time South Park is shown so that would be after 9 pm EST time. Its not like he went on Regis & Kelly and started spouting out off that stuff.

Seth Rogen is on prime time television on Comedy Central saying these things.

Now if we were discussing the shit Miley Cyrus does, and the fact that Jamie Lynn Spears is saying getting pregnant is the best thing that could have happened to her, then I'd be agreeing with you. Because those kids are actually appearing on TV networks and shows that are aimed towards kids. Seth Rogen is not. Its adult humor on adult television. Any kid who happened to tune in while he was saying that and actually took him seriously, was probably already messed up to begin with and was already bound to drop out of school while smoking too much weed.
