This just looks like a really shitty ripoff of the brilliant Superbad. I may check it out, but not likely.

How the hell does this look like a rip off of Superbad?

Because the three leads look like the leads in Superbad?

I love Superbad, but some people make it out to be the greatest comedy ever made and it's not.

This looks like a DVD rentel to me.

It looks like a ripoff of Superbad because it nearly has the same plot. Three loser teenagers go on a wild adventure involving sex, drugs, alcohol, and language. How the fuck doesn't this look like a ripoff of Superbad?

And I agree, some people do make Superbad out to be the greatest comedy ever, and it's not, but it's damn funny and it's a shame that a year after this a movie with a nearly identical plot is being released and it looks like absolute shit.

You realize there's alot of comedies where teens go on a wild adventure for sex, drugs etc.? It's not like Superbad created something super original.

This is basically the same teen comedy we've been seeing since the '70's. Nothing more, nothing less.

Whatever you say man. It just seems a little odd that nearly every character in College seems to resemble a character from Superbad in a plot that is nearly identical. Obviously it's not going to be like a word for word ripoff, but I doubt that this movie would be coming out if it weren't for Superbad. This just looks like absolute shit. The dialogue seems horrendous.

I'm not to argue if it's shit or not, but I don't find the plot that identical.

If it wasn't for films like Animal House, Revenge of the Nerds, Porky's, American Pie, there wouldn't have been Superbad and I'm not convinced otherwise.

They do seem a bit similar but Superbad wasn't exactly original either.

I actually think this looks okay. Not great but it don't look that bad either.

Ughhh, no thanks. I'll probably check it out on tv and be genuinely surprise and kinda like it via Accepted.

Superbad was bad enough, but this looks like an Animal House + Superbad and that = VERY BAD in my book.

Actually this one looks better than Superbad , but that's not saying much , i just hope we don't get some forced life lessons thrown in to pander to the sensitive side of the audience .

Have you seen Superbad? Or are you still judging Apatow's movies based on your hatred for some of his earlier films?

It is sad what some studios will do all for the sake of trying to make a few bucks. Is College really the best name they could come up with? Really? Really, Really? The really sad part is some people will pay to see this. Even I waited for Balls of Fury to go on DVD.

Ahem. In other words, this movie looks like every other Superbad/Animal House/Accepted movie out there. Why spend 9 bucks to see the same thing again?

Well . . . Superbad didn't have anything to do with college. It had three "nerds" looking to get into a party by getting booze. One character, the awesomely named McLovin, gets to tag along with two crazy cops along the way. This movie, College looks like it's three "nerds" getting the cliched college experience. There might be some similarities, but those will be the party scenes . . . if anything.

This looks like a combination of every college movie ever made: Animal House, American Pie, Old School and yes, probably Superbad. It doesn't look at all original, but c'mon . . . if you're going to see this movie, you're probably looking for some cheap laughs and some T&A.

I never said that i wanted to see it , i only said that it looks better than Superbad . What's the difference really , so this one is about college dudes trying to get some , Supes is about high school dudes trying to get some action , same difference , i think they both look dreadful , although if i was in to this stuff , i would go with the college take on the quest for bum .

If Apatow wrote it , people would be foaming at the mouth at the very thought of it .

*yawn,

I can definitely see where the Superbad comparision are coming from, what with the whole thing about the nerdy character, the fat loud mouthed character and the life changing party/weekend thing. Not that Superbad was the first movie of this kind but I think the previews make it pretty obvious that this movie is hoping to capitalize on the recent success of Superbad.

Other than the Superbad comparisions this movie seems to adhere to every conceivable film stereotype about college; from the bullying jocks to the incredibly easy undergrad chicks, to the excessive drinking and crazy parties, to the outrageous frat pranks. Really, who hasn't seen this done before? I predict one (maybe two) of the main characters will get laid, another will get very drunk and will throw up on someone, one or more characters will take revenge on the aforementioned jocks, and everyone will come away having learned valuable life lessons :P

I'll play the game where I download this and see how far I can get into it. I got 12 minutes on What Happens in Vegas, 24 on Epic Movie, and 2 on Meet The Spartans

So what are you saying , these things don't happen at college , glad i didn't go then .

oh they happen, just not all the time and not to everyone.

Personally I went to a university that didn't allow frats or sororities on campus (most Canadian universities don't apparently, which is fine by me since I loathe those thing on general principle i.e. paying for friends, degrading and slighly homoerotic rituals, conformity, etc.) so that may account for the fact that my university experience wasn't "typical" by movie standards anyway.

Overall, it had it's moments, but based on my experience and what I've heard from friends and colleagues, there isn't a universal college experience -something this movie seems to propagate.

I don't get how any of Apatow's work has impressed Dellamorte when he hasn't seen any of Judd's movies yet and is just basing his work on the trailers. I'll admit that Judd's movies usually don't look too amazing based on the trailers (I mean they have some chuckles, but he actually saves his funniest scenes for the actual movie).

I don't really understand how someone can expect a PG rated trailer to give you a good impression of an R rated comedy or how you can expect it to impress you.
