They play such amazing movies here. Double features/triple features galore. Lotr 1,2,and 3 was $7 and we got free popcorn. Life is good. Lemme know if you've been.

Now Post where you go to watch your movies. Or your favorite one.(Or don't and make me feel like a Jackass)

Don't think I would say I have a 'favorite' movie theater; I go to the one nearest my home most of the time.

I'm guessing that's in LA?

I hope so...I'm moving there on Friday. I'm sure there's lots of kick-ass theaters like these I can enjoy.

A nice, quaint, little movie house near the campus of Yale in New Haven, CT.

It's great because they regularly have films with a limited release, and the clientele are more upscale. I very rarely have to worry about immature and unintelligent young kids disturbing me throughout the film.

Oh yah. It's awesome. That particular theater in the last month has played All 3 LOTR, The Good The Bad And The Ugly, Aliens/Pumpkinhead, Spartacus. Sept. 10th I'll be there for a double feature of Burn after reading/Fargo. Really great theater. And when you go there you are with the fans. They laugh at all the right parts and stay quiet for the rest.

And they must love me. Look at all this advertising I'm giving 'em.

unfortunately, we don't have very many cool art house theaters in my area. We have one in DC, but I can rarely make the trip there just to go to the movies.
These two are the ones I go to most often...they're pretty nice.

There are two sections. One where they show major films is bigger with a balcony. The other is very small that fit maybe only 30 people or so and they show low budget ones like I saw The Visitor there. In the summer they would do an outside theatre on the street, but I never got the chance to see that. It's pretty famous and Roger Ebert visited there a few times.

I assume you're talking about Rave Polaris, I like the look of that place but the seats are crazy uncomfortable to me. And Easton has 30 theaters, not 18 - I think you're thinking of Dublin.

Easton is the shit though - you'll probably see me there everyday.

Thanks duder. I'm actually moving to Echo Park so I'm pretty much far away from everything, but I don't mind making long trips. I checked out that site - that Iron Man presentation sounds fucking sweet.

Pacific Theaters Winnetka 21 in Chatsworth, CA

All stadium seating, 3 rooms have 70 foot high screens, the food station is set up cafeteria style, so getting whatever you wants take seconds not minutes and it has self service butter topping stations. Huge foyer, two huge outdoor stations to buy tickets, huge halls.

Also, I really love the Chinese Theater in Hollywood.

i live in memphis tn and there are about 4 theatres within 20 min of my house. none of them are anything specail but if a drive another ten min i can get to a theatre that plays limited release movies but it only has four screens so if the movie is popular it sells out fast and if its not it disappers fast.

I wish we had cool theaters like that around here. The theaters around here suck. There's one I go to that's like all the others but at least the seats are comfortable, screens are big and the picture is extra sharp. Other than that, nothing special. I absolutely hate mall theaters, by the way. That's the only other one that's around here.

I was thinking of AMC Dublin since I live not to far from there. I fixed it.

A few of my friends don't like the seats at Rave much either. They never seem to bother me like they do them, but it's my theater of choice so my ass may just be accustomed to the chairs. :p

Wow, the Fargo Theatre is on there. Definately a fun place to go but didn't think it would make a USA Today top 10 great places list. Right now their showing midnight cult classic movies starting at midnight.
