I'm not a documentary filmmaker, but if I were, after reading this article I'd embark on a project trying to "crack" this secret ...
http://money.cnn.com/2008/09/09/news/companies/kfc_recipe/index.htm?cnn=yes
The insane amount of security they apparently put behind their recipe is insane, and I think a history on the topic, as well as a scientific search attempting to breakdown the ingredients would make for a real cool flick.
I've got to assume, with todays technology, it's absolutely possible to figure out what's in the "Original Recipe" without actually getting your hands on the recipe.
On a side note, I'm well aware this is one of the most random threads in the history of this forum ...

Here in the North of England (Manchester) we have 'Allen's Fried Chicken'...the founder seems to have scammed the Colonel's secret recipe somehow...he's this little English dude with a pornstar 'tache and a shitload of pomade on his hair, and his 'restaurants' are all sticky floors and slightly off-white, plastic furniture.
He also reckons he was made honorary Colonel of Kentucky or some shit.

Has anyone tried the Original Recipe Strips yet?
I'm a huge fan of Crispy Strips, so I'm pretty interested in the Original Recipe ones. I'm on the fence about giving them a try tonight.

Fried chicken RULES! Those crispy strips look delicious, though I haven't tried them yet. I'm a Bojangle's man myself.

The secret ingredient is clearly human beings.
Why else would it be kept a secret so long?

uh oh , Soylent Green conspiracies , although i always suspected White Castle burgers of containing human remains , it's the only food that smells the same going in as it does coming out , that's not natural .

oops , i forgot , everyone knows the secret ingredients are effective marketing , loads of oil , the desire of people not to cook themselves , a mythical origin story constructed around the founder , a " cute " old guy as the image of the company , and convenience .

Didn't they discover the Colonel's 'Original' original recipe that had an added ingredient to it a few years back? Lol...i doubt they changed the recipe int he actual stores though. And yeah, to be honest i'm suprised we don't already know what it is, i mean, can't be that hard to figure it out. If you can test drugs you can test chicken!

Ignore him, Roy - he's hit the bong and gone insane in the membrane.
Classic stoner behaviour - repeating shit he heard five hours ago on BBC America...or was it Discovery?
They get vicious when they have the munchies, you know?

Not for nothing, I like a funny thread myself every once in a while, but whats this thread have to do with movies? Are we making threads about how good or bad KFC is now?
Dont feel bad about this KenSPT but I think that saying "I think finding out whats in KFC's secret recipe would make a great documentary" isnt enough to keep a thread on the Joblo boards going...unless we started talking about fast food related movies like Fast Food Nation or Supersize Me or something, I think its pointless to start talking about how "I love the KFC chicken strips" or how good or bad KFC is on these particular boards. Cause then it turns into a thread promoting KFC.
And the threads that are actually movie related are ignored...maybe schmoes are secretly bored about talking about the same things over and over?
Why not just try harder to find an interesting movie related topic?

I like Popeyes better. When I was in Thailand, I had problems finding stuff to eat. There were tons of really bad McDonalds and KFC's. My mother in law think I eat too much chicken. There were also millions of 711's and they sell the weirdest shit there, but they still had slurpies.
