Beth Grant's Mrs. Farmer character in DONNIE DARKO, teaching fear vs. love in a health class when she herself was the most fear-based hypocrite I've ever seen! Her role was pivotal to the story's plot so she served her purpose (and plays similar women in many of her roles, much like Lin Shaye)!

I'm a high school English teacher and I've had the misfortune of teaching with similar control freaks! The absolute worst are the ones who hide behind religion!

Donnie Darko would've been my favorite student! My teaching style is very much like Drew Barrymore's character in that great film!
