I'm a fan of Michele Saovi, but I still haven't seen The Sect. How does it stack up against Stagefright and Cemetery Man? I've heard that it's a trippy mindfuck. It's got to be entertaining at the very least.

I don't remember every detail about this film , but what i do recall was some excellent horror goodness . it's an admitted rip , more like inspired by Rosemary's Baby and maybe a bit of Omen , but that would be simplifying things .
What struck me , and it always does in a Soavi film is the surrealistic atmosphere that's prevalent throughout . Now it could be because of the lighting , the film stock , the dubbing , and the color scheme , but this is yet another film in the what i would call , just outside of reality .
I love some of the set design , the lead heroine is as cute as a button ( she is the same lady that played She's friend in Cemetery Man and i think she was in The Church) , some of the set pieces are appropriately creepy and otherworldly , the music was excellent , and the creature effects were great .
This is one of those films that features a rabbit watching television , that's how wacky it is .
I highly recommend this film , it's another gem from the twisted mind of Michele Soavi .

:) Youīre really getting into them italian-horrors Count arenīt ya? :D
Yeah, give it a view, itīs not compareable to Stage Fright or Cemetery Man but it still rules, itīs a film that has to be seen to be believed, take that for what you will. Oh yeah, that rabbit....
Coming to think of it, this is my favorite Soavi film. I didnīt like "The Church" at all, but "The Sect" rules.
