10 Bucks to the first person that can tell me the title of this movie!

Seriously - I will send $10 via paypal to the first person that can identify this movie for me. I saw it as a kid and it scared the hell out of me...then again I was like 8 or 9 yrs old. But anyway - here is what i remember about the movie:

Bunch of 18-25 yr old kids - like 5 or 6 of them have car trouble in some remote place in the woods and break down. They go walking in search of a house or gas station and they get picked off one at a time by these deranged people that kill them by embalming them in wax.

I really have no idea what the title of the movie is, nor can I remember anything else. It must have come out in the 70's because I think I saw it in 1980.

Any ideas?

That was my first try and that wasn't it. I really don't remember but I don't think the title had the word "wax" in it, because I already searched all of the "wax" tagged movies and none of them were it. I think the title was along the lines of like "hitchikers..." "stranded...""wrong turn..." something like that...I know this isn't very helpful but now you see why I can't find this movie!

I think you will find that Tourist Trap is just as effective today as it was in its day. Quite frankly, I am a 36-year old man who still has to sleep with the lights on if I watch it.

What a fantastic movie! You should feel good for even seeing this movie. Seriously. Not many people yap about TT.

Personally I loved it. The opening scene is very suspenseful, as is the whole movie. There are some very clever props/effects in the movie, and the acting is actually decent. The killer looks a cross between Micheal Meyers and Leatherface, and has the whole House of Wax brothers thing going on. If you are into the whole 70's genre of horror you will love it, if you are more of an 80's man I'd say stay away.

There was a horror movie a friend showed me once that looked awesome but he only showed me a scene and he wouldn't tell me what it was and I really wanted to see the whole thing..Ok here is what I can remember from the scene..It was set during or right after the American Civil War and there were a few soldiers (I think there were 3) who stumbled into this town run by children and I remember that somehow these children took these guy's hostage and they hacked up and killed one of the guys and later they blindfolded the second guy and and handed him the severed arm of the hacked up guy and these children had attached a large hook to it and made this guy beat his fellow soldier like a living pinata..I don't think that the guy knew he was killing his friend either because they had him gagged...Now from what I can remember from the look of the film and when I saw it (high school) I would say that it was either from the mid to late 80's or possibly early 90's...Please if anyone could help me it would be awesome..
